Recent Happenings: RADIO ONE SNAPS UP JULESY! Ex-Kiss 100 FM DJ and world famed mixer, owner of Manifesto and Positiva publishing labels Judge Jules has been contracted by BBC Radio 1 in order to improve their listenership figures amongst dance music fans! Since the take over of Kiss 102 and 105, by Galaxy, this means that Judge Jules will once again be heard outside London. Jules is doing the 9-11pm Friday slot, and the 5-7PM Saturday night slot, even for people who hate radio 1 (like me) this show is still worth listening to! GUSTO ARE BACK! Gusto, best known for the club classic "Disco's Revenge" and "Your Body" have open house and set up a new publishing label "Sounds of the last days", the debut release is "Take you up" by T & A on The Rocks, out now. THE ANNUAL 3 IS HERE! Pete Tong and Boy George are back with the Ministry of Sound and have released this years "Annual". The same high standard as the previous two years, including a 38 page colour booklet looking back over the year of clubbing and dance music. This is a double CD pak published by Ministry of Sound, and is in the shops now. IT'S GETTING HEATED AGAIN! One of the most famous fights in the DJ industry looks likely to be back on sadly. Danny Teneglia and the extrememly talented Junior Vasquez are at it again. Vasquez has been signed up to club Twilo, where Teneglia is one of the residents, until he heard the news and left to go to "The Tunnel" which is a few streets away from Twilo. As listed in the November issue of Mixmag, the feud has been long running: Feb 1996: Vasquez, resident at The Tunnel, orders security to escort Teneglia from the building Mar 1996-1997 : The DJs wage a war of words via the media. In Canadian movie "Hang the DJ", Teneglia brands Junior "disrespectful, and childish" while Vasquez asks "Why would some one go somewhere they're not invited?" Apr 1997 - Vasquez approached by Twilo to start a residency, Teneglia quits in disgust, but Vasquez changes his mind and decided to remain at Palladium. Jul 1997 - Teneglia returns to Twilo on Gay Pride Weekend. The club had been with out a big name DJ for several weeks. Aug 1997 - Vasquez invites Teneglia to his Palladium booth. They shake hands and he apologises. Teneglia replies "it's time we squash it, move on and do our own thing". Sept 1997 - Palladium shuts. Vasquez announces Saturday nights at Twilo are his. Teneglia leaves (again) and joins The Tunnel Oct 1997 - Teneglia seems to be ahead on points: Tunnel owner Peter Gatien announces the legendary Limelight will re-open in October, giving Teneglia another club to play in. +RIPMAG+
