AMIGA CONSOLES

In the past there had always been talk of producing an Amiga 'console', and
finally Commodore had a bash at it back in 1993, and came up with the CD³²,
which wasn't a bad little machine (I've got 6 of 'em!!), but I think the
CD³² didn't offer anything substantial in new technology, an A1200 with a
CD-ROM is essentially the same.  And the CD³² is in fact a computer shoved
in a console box.

I'm getting pig sick of annoying little dick heads putting down the Amiga,
and saying that it's crap for games, and that the graphics are crap.  The
amount of people I know who used to have an Amiga (usually an A500) and who
all liked the CD³² when I first got one back in early 1994, but now them
seem to forget, they have playstations, and suddenly are under the
impression that the Amiga has the graphical power of a ZX81!!  The Amiga can
do graphics just as well as a Playstation, some of the AGA graphics are mind
blowing, you have near-photo quailty images on the Amiga, you can't get
much better!  I keep having to show these people an AGA 3-D render to remind
them, and they always say the same thing "oh, wow, that's actually good!",
then 2 weeks later it's back to "Amiga graphics are good? hahahaha".

The Amiga can do equal graphics, just that the Playstation is an out and out
console and had a 3D animation chip, which is designed for moving 3D images
around, which the Amiga as standard cannot do as well.  But a 68060 Amiga
could do just as well if games were written to support it, and a Power-PC
equipt Amiga turds on any Playstation, just games software to support an
Amiga with a PPC is non-existant, as yet, but I want it to hurry up and be
common place, and remind these console blinded fools that the Amiga is, and
has always been, and always will be the number one computer, and I've never
forgotten what it's capable of.  That's 'cos I'm clever ya see :)

But one of my CD³²s is fitted with an SX32 and a 50Mhz 68030, a 1.2 gig hard
disk, and a colour bubblejet.  I have NewIcons installed, and a start bar
program, and a nice backdrop, nicely arranged screen, and my machine totally
kicks ass off any Windows '95 machine I've ever used, and people who have
used my machine totally agree.  I use A-Web 3 which I consider nicer to use
than Internet Explorer or Netscape, although I'm starting to like Voyager NG
as well, just it crashes a lot for me (maybe my machine), and I've just paid
for Aweb 3.  But don't forget what the Amiga is capable of if you spend the
time getting it there.

Nice thing happened to a friend of mine lately, he got a Pee Cee for FREE
(giving the damn things away these days! :)  so you know what he did?
Deleted Win 95, and all the software on it, installed UAE (Amiga emulator)
and used the hard disk and RAM for the Amiga side, runs just like an A1200
now, if a bit more dodgy, but that can be expected, after all it's a Pee
Cee.  But makes a good second best, and a damn sight better than working
with Windoze 95.
