Dpaint 5 AGA Best Points: A Brilliance beater. Most of the worst points from version 4 have been fixed. The main point of interest has been the overhall of the range and fill requster. My only gripe is that the colour boxes representing the range could be larger. Perhaps the best new feature of Dpaint 5 is the fill tool enhancements i.e. the smooooth dither fill and, my favorite, transpancy blend ratio. An ASL file request has made loading and saving images quicker. Worst Points: Still Slow but thats more the Amiga fault. No RGB spreading. Only one spare screen. Version 5 crashed a lot when I used macros, version 5.2 seems to be more stable. Rating: I still love Brilliance 2, but if I had to choose I'd go for Dpaint 5.2 in the end. 09/10 HappyDatatypes Yes, I know its not a paint package, but it will enhance most of them by allowing you to load images in formats other than the Amiga's native IFF. It should be available on the Aminet or on most magazine CD coverdisks. 10/10
