Simpsons Doom - Amiga Notes =========================== Simpsons Doom - a homage to on the TV cartoon but not in any way endorsed by the makers or licensees (like all third-party Doom WADs). It is provided free, with no warranty. Your mileage may vary. It works for me. This replaces the sounds, characters and some of the objects in standard DOOM WADs with ones that Homer Simpson will find more familiar - Beer, Donuts (you play for Cholesterol, rather than health), the pious neighbour Flanders, Homer's dad, fat policemen etc. If you have enjoyed the cartoons, you'll probably find this amusing too. The room and puzzle layout is unchanged. This Doom WAD comes from a CD Zone coverdisk and has been converted from PC to Amiga file format, with the addition of a startup icon. This also removes the wait for a keypress, normal when starting non-standard WADs, though it works by redirecting its own text into the command input stream, so you'll need to modify it if you change the name of the command file. Still, it's simple, it works... It has been tested on an A4000/060 with AGA and Adoom, where it worked very nicely, in conjunction with the official Doom2 WAD. Note that you MUST have purchased an official WAD (rather than just a demo) to use this or other third-party Doom add-ons. Go on, it's worth it... Simon N Goodwin Amiga Format April 1998
