Nulikon is the name of a new game close to the Turrican style. The Development Team behind Nulikon decided to take up the challenge of making a game for the Amiga after hearing the cries from people that the Amiga was dead. They felt a desire to make sure this did not happen and therefore started development of Nulikon. They are an example for others to follow and many Developers took the same decision they made.
Nulikon uses a engine that allows you to experience a platform game that can move in three directions instead of two. There is no rotation involved even though the on screen objects are in 3 dimensions producing overall, an excellent effect. This creates a game between Turrican and Mario 64 except it'll run on the Amiga.
It's still in it's early stages but they have done some graphics of characters such as the main character, Nulikon the hero who will be at the centre of the game. Other Characters include - Rotogun a Shielded flying-canon, Grenadette a little grenade with small wheels, Helitron a big heliported chaingun, Bolt-Thrower a energy-bolt throwing machine, Bomberman as in the game with same name, Broyator and a whole host of others planned. They have plenty of ideas under consideration like having one or two friend monsters that can help the hero, jet pack style bonuses which allow you to fly for a time or even the ability to grab enemies to use them such as seen in Mario64. They are full of ideas which can be read from their web pages.
I've found the details from their web site and from the details I have received to be very interesting and their ideas have potential. They are looking for ideas such as on possible storylines and help on the games development such as in 2D Graphics, 3D-Graphics (modelisation/animation/rendering), Music and Code. They currently need a good GFX/ Designer to help them and they would like them to be French speaking. They've got a good team together who are highly motivated and are working to release a demo in the next few months
