This software is released into the public domain as freeware Copy it as you will I accept no responsibility for any occurrance good or bad as a result of its use. I wrote Semaphore Edit some time ago when I was busy playing around in video and had 2 Sanyo GVR-S950 edit decks. The software controlled the decks through the RS-232 ports and it also controlled a trigger to control a video mixer. It likes to live on a floppy (at the time it was convenient and kept my EDL's from different projects separated and easier to track, as they take up very little space.) The software will perform: 1 - Checkerboard edits between 2 decks and a mixer this requires making a master 1 tape then making a master 2 tape each of the necessary interleaved edits. it the runs the two tapes with a mixer and creates an A/B roll out to a third uncontrolled tapedeck. 2 - Linears Edits 3 - control a gp-trigger through a third serial port (RS-232) 4 - capable of using drop and non-drop time-code 5 - it's been a while but frame accuracy seemed to be attained as this was the gist of writing the editor. Semaphore Edit was written in AMOS for ease and it controlled the phenominal amount of strings necessary to carry out the tasks. AMOS don't LIKE ANIMATED POINTERS! Semaphore Edit may control other decks, OR, it may not! use caution as the controllers for the SANYO decks were actually BCD controllers and operate on fairly simple commands. BCD did show some interest in the software at the time it was being written but, alas Commodore was not showing any interest in continuing as a business and prospects did not seem to be 'rosey'. As a result it was shelved and just recently I stumbled onto the internet and am able to offer up. If I can be of assistance ....
