May 98

So you've had some time to play around with our new-style CD - if you're online you may even have seen my request asking for feedback on it - and we hope you like it. In magazine months it's May already, even though this issue will be on sale in the UK from the 17th April, and as we all should know by now, May is the month in which the World of Amiga show takes place. It was a bit touch and go this year whether one would take place or not, but we at Amiga Format are pleased that it is, and we'll be there to hand out advice and have a general chat, come along and say hi!

One of the best reasons for being there this year is that it is supposed to be the public unveiling of both the BoXeR and A5000 motherboards - the first really new Amigas since the A4000T (unless of course, those machines that Quikpak were going to make really exist - in which case why haven't we had them for review Quikpak?). These boards are really going to shake up the Amiga market. Petro has been selling Amiga 1200s, but once the stock he has dries up there won't be any more (in their current form at least). People definitely want something new and a 1200 just isn't it. Still, for thoise that don't have hundreds of pounds to spend at the show, there will be plenty of other things to see - not least the FA cup on a huge screen TV, if you're that way inclined, hopefully NetConnect2, and clickBOOM's top secret new game.
