The second of Andy's art packages is illusions. This is very good, not a run of the mill painting program, but more of a suite of special effects. The interface is also a little different from the standard DPaint/PPaint GUI, but soon becomes second nature with a bit of practise.
At your disposal are 32 different colours - sixteen of these are set to rotate continuously, while the other sixteen are "fixed" and will draw pure, non-moving colour. ILLUSIONS allows you to draw in both animated colour, and non-animated colour - a bit like super-imposure. The results, after a bit of experiment and practice, can be really spectacular - stuff that will make your grandma's false teeth drop out in amazement.
Illusions also includes a full on-line manual, a selection of ready made backdrops, and various clipart images.

A huge graphic adventure, which will amaze and encapsulate all fans of the genre. The hard drive version of the game is supplied on ten disks, yes it's a whopper!! A more manageable 5 disk floppy version is also available, but don't worry all the superb gameplay is still included.
As you would expect, the game as been quite a time in development and so great care as been taken at every stage to ensure no mistakes are included. Timewarrior allows the player to wander anywhere in the huge landscape and talk to anyone whom they might meet, no restrictions are set by the program. For players using the hard drive version, full screen "landscape" mode is available.
A brilliant game which will take quite a while to complete, even for the most hardened of adventure players. If you do finish the quest the author as agreed to supply a reward to anyone who contacts him.

A brand new strategy game brought to you via F1 Software. The game is a little difficult to explain as it does not fit easily into any of the usual gaming sections, but I'll try. From the options screen you are taken to the battle ground which can be one of three areas:

Desert
Volcanic
If you have selected one player mode the computers castle will be located at the top of the sceen while you will be the red team based in the lower left. Each team controls a craft which collects coloured stones (energy) for their commander. You must also select attack or defence for the stones to be used for. If in attack mode all the collected stones are used to upgrade your castles weapons. Once a gun is in place more stones are needed before it can be fired. Players can switch between attack and defence at any time.
Of coarse being a type of strategy game, just attacking all the time will result in failure. The game is fast paced and the computer opponent gives you no time to sit and think out your next move. The game really takes off when played in two player mode with a friend. It will soon have you battling for those stones and crushing your mates castle without mercy.
To play and enjoy this game fully I would recommend using it with the Competition Pro Joypad. It saves you from fiddling around with your keyboard to change from attack to defence. Denomino is a board game about four-letter-words. A fantastic

A valuable resource for students providing a comprehensive guide
to the fascinating world of physics. It uses text, graphics, and
animations to make learning more involving and less daunting.
Physics Tutor consists of two modules, the first one being the main tutor program and the second a questions program. The subjects covered are all essentials needed to pass GCSE Physics, it includes Light & Sound, Forces & Energy, and Electricity & Magnetism. Each section is accompanied by diagrams, animations, notes, and example Q&A.
A selection multiple choice practice questions are included, answered by a simple mouse click, a "HINT" button is allowed on this section. Once you have completed the "mock" exam, a printout of your progress can be created. The printed chart displays your total score and predicted grade, it also advises you on the subjects which need more study time.
Full examination questions have no hints. The questions offer students a high level of interactivity and immediate feedback. Eighteen questions are available for each section. To add a bit more fun to the program an award certificate can be printed showing your results.
Designed specifically to meet the needs of pupils, this title would also be useful to anyone interested in physics. Epoch has been around now for many years in various forms. However, this is the first time it has made an appearance on the PC. Many ex Amiga users who have now migrated over to Windows 95 may be quite surprised (and hopefully pleased) to see it here at long last.
Unlike a lot of the other Personal Information Managers (or PIM`s) around these days, Epoch has been designed squarely with the Home User in mind. If you need a PIM for business or corporate requirements then you are probably going to be far better off with one of the countless titles for just that purpose. It`s not that Epoch isn`t as powerful or as far reaching as any other PIM it`s just that it has been designed with people in mind rather than business.
