Purpose:
A general purpose compression library based on gzip. This provides function
calls which allow an application to compress or decompress data stored in a
format similar to that used by the gzip utility. Its current main application
is by the PNG (Portable Network Graphics) library, which in turn is used by the
latest ImageMagick and mosaic releases.
