Schoolboy Sixes 3.1 Demonstration
4 February 1998
=================================

Introduction
============
Welcome to Schoolboy Sixes, the nostalgic look back at when you used
to get up on Sunday mornings only to be knocked senseless by the
overgrown fullback. Of course now you are far more responsible and
grown-up, now you just get up on a Sunday afternoon with a banging
headache from the beer night before.

Enough of this beer talk lets get back to the game. You are the
grown-up who has to craft and mould a group of unruly fifteen
year olds from a Brentwood council estate into a sleek championship
winning side.

Loading Instructions
====================
Schoolboy Sixes will run on any Amiga providing it has no less than
1 meg of memory. To load please place your game disk in Drive A and
wait for the introduction. Simply click the left mouse button to skip
the introduction that took ages to create (ungrateful sods!) and you
will see the local sports section of the Brentwood chronicle. Accept
the job offer by clicking on the advert and you will be the new coach
of Brentwood U15 football club. Failure to do this will result in a
very short and boring game.

The Game
========
You are take the role of Ralph Starbrook, new manager of Brentwood U15's.
Due to the dwindling numbers of youngsters interested in Sunday League
these days the leagues have changed somewhat. In the Bamford County
six-a-side Sunday League their is ten competing teams which are dotted
around the county. Brentwood is situated on the outskirts of the county
and their pitch is in the middle of the council estate. Being the manager
of a young lads team can be more difficult than you can imagine, such
things as piano lessons or going shopping with mum can stop your star
player from attending Sunday mornings. Be careful of the pitch conditions
too as if the weather is lousy most parents won't let their sons play.
You should now be looking at a screen with four options; The Lads,
Sign a Trialist, Tables and Sunday Morning.

The Lads
========
In front of you now should be your squad of 12 willing although not able
players. By clicking on one of the players with your right mouse key you
will bring up their statistics. This shows their age, how many they have
played, how many they have scored and also all their different attributes,
such as pace and stamina. Two new factors that you donÕt see in many games
of this type are the average ratings and the assists. The former being that
after every game each player gains a mark out of ten for their performance.
Through the tournament they are given an average rating to show how well
they are performing. For example a player with an average rating of 2.84
is playing extremely poorly. The latter feature is the assists, this is
to show who is actually setting up the goalscorers so that you can find
your best playmaker. Remember to keep a happy squad as many other managers
would be more than helpful to take a fresh new face of your hands.

Going back to the squad screen you will see four buttons. The first is
obvious as that it takes you back to the first menu. The second is the
Match Info screen clicking this with your left mouse button brings up
all Bazza's info on your next opponents, such as their tactics or their
danger man. The third is the tactics screen this is where you select your
different strategies, such as playing deep, etc. The fourth is to select
and move your team around to best suit you. Firstly click the move button,
then click on the player you wish to move, then click on the player you
wish to swap him with. You must select each option with the left mouse
key to accomplish this task. Your team is based on six outfield players,
three substitutes and three reserves. Remember you are only allowed
three substitutions in one match and cannot use your reserves.

Sign a Trialist
===============
Selecting this menu lets you sign a new trialist to inject life into
your squad. You are only allowed to sign one trialist a week so choose
carefully. Bazza has vetted the trailists in training and will give
you his prospects rating for each lad. However we all know what Bazza
is like. To sign somebody up you simply click on the lad you are
interested in and then select the shoddy reject from your squad which
you want to get rid of. A word of warning, watch that other managers
don't try to pilfer one of your own lads or that one of these trialists
doesn't come back to haunt you.

Tables
======
This is straightforward as this screen will show your teams current
standing. There is also four extra options to select these are; your
fixture list for this year, the squad's details such as goals scored,
average ratings, etc.and finally the club details of your opposition -
by clicking on their team name this will bring the details up of that
team (Ronksley Boys's details only available in demo).

Sunday Morning
==============
This menu goes directly to the game, firstly it will show you the team
line ups, then by clicking the left mouse key you're straight into the
action. Each match is fifteen minutes each way and is played on variously
undesirable pitches. To change tactics or use your substitutes you
must click the left mouse key on the subs/tactics button, this will bring
you to the squad screen where you can make substitutions in just the same
way as you would move a player. Remembering of course that you can only
use three substitutes in one game.

This demonstration copy gives you a taste of things to come, however the
full version will boast an eighteen game league programme with many more
features to boot. If you require to quit the game for any reason and don`t
want to restart your Amiga, simply hold down the Cntrl + C keys to quit.

If you would like to purchase the full version then please arrange payment
for £3.99 plus P+P to be sent to:
