Short: Total Football / Domark A1200/A4000 HARD-DISK INSTALLER Author: diff. Uploader: Muskote@T-Online.de Type: GAME/PATCH Version: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This small file is a hard disk installer for Total Football. It needs around 3MB of fastram since all 3 disks of the game are mirrored in ram. Loading the game takes only an instant , no annoying disk grinds at all. If you really wanted to you could alter the installer (source provided) to use only 1MB of fastram since the game data when crunched is only around a meg in size! I didn`t see the point patching it for A500`s with a HD since most non aga machines don`t have around 3MB of continous free fastram available and I couldn`t be bothered to add a decruncher... Usage: ------ To use this version of the installer from a workbench menu launcher tool like "Parm" you will need at least 2.8MB of continious free fastram. All Amiga`s with a 4MB or 8MB or 16MB+ fast ram expansion / accelerator cards should be fine. Workbench startup code is handled so you can even create a workbench icon for it if you wish! You will need a copy of the game disks to use this install. No game data is supplied with this patch. The program is freely distributable as long as nominal coping fee`s are charged not exceeding around 2 pounds. Installation: ------------- First create a directory called 'total' on your Hard-disk wherever you wish to install the game. Next make the assignment "TOTAL:" to that path. Copy the hd install program into that path from this archive "totalhd" e.g; 1> makedir work:total 1> assign total: work:total Use the provided 'diskmirror' to copy the 3 original disks onto your hard disk into the "total:" path. Call each mirrored disk "total1" , "total2" and "total3" respectively. Make sure you mirror all three disks or its sure to crash.. Volia! to play the game simply enter; 1> total:totalhd and away you go! Notes to the Author`s of Total Football: ---------------------------------------- Just what kind of crap is this game? Why the hell are you STILL using LAME absoulute addresses? Why are you still using Hardware disk loading? Where the fu*! where the A1200 enhancements? Extra sounds.. well whoopiee.. This type of low quality game is giving the amiga a bad name. Your code sucks and so does this game. It looks like its on an 8-bit machine. It could have been 256 colours in FULL screen on the A1200 at 50 frames per second! Instead we get a poxy sized 16 color looking crappy effort running as slow as hell.. looks at least around as slow as 12.5 frames per second! To add insult to injury the game comes on >3< disks yet when crunched the ENTIRE game could have fitted onto ONE SINGLE DISK! And then there is the fact that you cannot even abort a game with the escape key!! How god damned annoying yet it would have been so easy to add...
