Following is a very brief snapshot of what you'll find in Graham Hancock's book "Fingerprints of the Gods". It's excellent and I recommend it as a MUST read.

THE GREAT SPHINX, GIZA, EGYPT

The Sphinx is believed by archaeologists to be 4,500 years old, but shows unmistakable signs of weathering by heavy rains and floods that have not been experienced in that part of the eastern Sahara for mare than 12,000 years.

Egyptologists date the Great Pyramid to approximately 2,500 B.C. But, new archaeo-astronomical research has incontrovertibly revealed that the pattern of the Pyramids on the ground matches the pattern of the constellation of Orion as it would have appeared over Cairo in 10,450 B.C.

NOTE FROM DAVE:

His book ended with great anticipation of newly discovered chambers in the Great Pyramid, and Sphinx being opened in the near future. This was March 1993.

Exploring a newly found small shaft (roughly 1ft square) with "UPUAUT", a remote controled robot with mini cam, at the end of this corridor was a solid limestone door complete with METAL fittings !!!!
