 @{b}@{u}Introduction@{ub}@{uu}

  I started using DOpus Magellan in 1997 and it was a hard job
  to find out all possibilities that this great, but very complex
  program hid in its code. So I started reading the very large
  manual very carefully and found some interesting features,
  you won't discover at once. One day I read the chapter about
  the DOpus ENV variables and found more and more features :)
  I missed the swazinfo patch, I used on my workbench and what
  I read about the 'UseWBInfo' variable, gave me some hope to
  use it again in DOpus.

  The only problem there existed now, was the following:
   I am not a friend of the shell, instead of using it
   sometimes. Everytime I wanted to change a variable,
   I had to open the shell and set these variables
   using the keyboard.

  The idea I had, when using the MUI-CGXPrefs program, that
  does the same job for other variables and software, but
  the principle was the same...
  So I started coding a little tool, that did the same thing,
  but slidely modified (see @{"FAQ" link "FAQ" 0}) for DOpus.

  I think many other people don't know all the possibilities
  that are hidden in this great workbench replacement, instead
  of Jonathan Potter itself :)
  So I decided to release this program to the public, that it
  would make usage of DOpus easier for the user.

 @{b}@{u}System requirements@{ub}@{uu}

  If you want to use this program, you should have the following
  min. configuration:

     OS:     3.0+
            (3.1 advised)
     DOpus: Magellan Version (5.5+)
            (5.65 / 5.661 advised)

            This program includes some variables, that are
            only supported since version 5.5 of DOpus !
            Instead of that fact, you can use it, because
            DOpus will ignore unknown variables !
     RAM: Here is only one sentence to say:
              more ram -> more possibilities :)

  I advise you to upgrade your DOpus version to 5.661 !
  You can download it via Internet at following pages:

      (see @{"FAQ" link "FAQ" 0})

    @{b}Use (ShortCut: AMIGA + U)@{ub}

      Writes the actual data into ENV: and enables it to

      (see @{"FAQ" link "FAQ" 0})

    @{b}Quit (ShortCut: AMIGA + Q)@{ub}

 @{b}@{u}Variables@{ub}@{uu}

  @{b}@{i}NoNoLabel@{ub}@{ui}

    Deactivates icons without description.
    You are now able to correct a little bug - reported by users -
    that icons without description were shown. Perhaps the bit set
    by DOpus was altered by another program.

  @{b}@{i}PopUpDelay@{ub}@{ui}

    Delays the popup of a popupmenu with the value set by the user
    in 1/50 secs. (Default: 10 = 1/5 sec.).

  @{b}@{i}WorkbenchTitle@{ub}@{ui}

    If this variable is set, DOpus won't generate its own screentitle
    and mem-usage / clock in the title bar. Instead of that, the screen-
    title will be set to 'Amiga Workbench'. So patches - like the MCP
    'ChangeWBTitle' function can be used in DOpus as workbench replacement.
    (BUT comments like 'Loading program '.....'' won't be displayed then)

  @{b}@{i}QuickIconDrag@{ub}@{ui}

    If this variable is set, icons won't be masked by dragging. So the
    icon has a transparent background (like workbench) and is faster.

  @{b}@{i}NoCustomDrag@{ub}@{ui}

    If this variable is set, the RTG-icondragfunctions will be deactivated
    at all.

  @{b}@{i}UseWBInfo@{ub}@{ui}

    If this variable is set, DOpus will call the WBInfo()-function instead
    of its own icon.module. Works only, if workbench is running and you use
    V39 of the Amiga-OS. You can use patches like SwazInfo with this.

  @{b}@{i}ShowUseDatatypesFirst@{ub}@{ui}

    If this variable is set, DOpus will try to load any picture using your
    system datatypes. If not set, DOpus will use its show.module.

  @{b}@{i}3DLook@{ub}@{ui}

    Special flag to provide compatibility with programs like SysIHack.

 @{b}@{u}@{fg shine}F@{fg text}requently @{fg shine}A@{fg text}sked @{fg shine}Q@{fg text}uestions@{ub}@{uu}

  Q: I have some trouble with the GUI !
  R: This program needs OS 3.0+ and GadTools Library
     V39+ to run - @{b}but@{ub} it is possible, that it uses
     some V40 TAGS. I don't think, that it will influence
     the function of this tool.

  Q: I set the 'UseWBInfo' Flag to 0, but nothing happens,
     if I call 'Information' in DOpus' popupmenu !
  R: That's a problem caused by DOpus ! I don't know why,
     but if the ENV var was set by my program, it seems
     like DOpus always trys to call the WbInfo()-function.
     So, if you have that problem, just delete the following
     file in ENV and ENVARC after boot: 'DOpus/UseWBInfo'
     and everything works.

     Just click @{"here" system "Delete ENV:DOpus/UseWBInfo ENVARC:DOpus/UseWBInfo"} to execute this.

  Q: I found more variables than used in your program !
  R: That's right. There are 2 or 3 variables, that aren't
     supported by this program, because they contain private
     data of DOpus, that should not be altered.

 @{b}@{u}DOpus expansions@{ub}@{uu}

  This program is an expansion for DOpus, for example. I know,
  that this chapter does not really belong to this guide, but
  I found a lot of such expansions in Aminet. Some are very
  useful others are really sh** ...

  So I decided to include a chapter with tested and improved
  expansions for DOpus:

   @{b}@{i}ARexx / DOS@{ub}@{ui}

    ArcDir.lha

      IMHO one of the best expansions for DOpus. It presents
      the contents of an Lha or Lzx archive in an DOpus Lister
      and you can use it like a normal part of your system -
      unpacked ! You can also add, delete, read and extract
      data from there to anywhere you want. Use it and you
      won't miss it !

    CD_MM_OPUS5.lha

      This archive contains programs and arexx scripts for
      multimedia play of audio and video (mpeg) data !
      You can also use ti to convert some audio formats !

    xpkdopus.lha

      If you have installed this archive, you can handle
      the complete xpk power with some clicks !
      You can (de)crunch and (de)crypt files. But the best
      thing is: you click a file, crunched with xpk and DOpus
      will (thanks to xpkdopus script) decrunch it automatically.
      If you have crunched and crypted a file, DOpus asks for
      the password to decrunch and will display it then.
      It's great !!!

    MPEGA-GUIplay.lha

      With the content of this archive you can play MPEG-sound
      files within a click and you will get all important data
      with progressbar and information.

      You also need the program 'MPEGA' for playing and an extra
      archive from Aminet at 'util/cli/TBreak.lha' !

   @{b}@{i}Modules@{ub}@{ui}

    DeliPlay1.1.lha

      After the installation of this archive, you can use the
      complete DeliTracker power with DOpus. It adds new commands
      to DOpus and you can stear DeliTracker with some clicks
      or hotkeys !

    Compare.lha

      This module allows you to compare two files and - if
      differences were found - displays the number of diffs.
      and outs them into DOpus reader.

      Useful.

    Hotlist.lha

      This module allows you to create a hotlist of your
      favourite directories, that are located 145 directories
      under root :) You just click one in the hotlist
      displayed dir and it will appear at once in a Lister !

   @{b}@{i}Graphics@{ub}@{ui}

    NewIconDoProgs.lha / NewIconDoTBar.lha

      These archives contain some very nice graphics made
      for usage with DOpus and NewIcons.

      Great !

 @{b}@{u}Products@{ub}@{uu}

  In this chapter, I want to present other programs
  I wrote.

  @{b}@{i}ARC@{ub}@{ui} (Aminet:util/misc)

   You write your readme files for your Aminet uploads
   yourself, and you don't really know, what is allowed
   or not ? You don't know all the flags and don't format
   the text style of your readme file. You can't add some
   archive information easily - like seen onto Aminet CDs ?

   Then use ARC - the ultimative AminetReadmeCreator !
   With possibility to load existing readme files !!!

  @{b}@{i}HFRemove@{ub}@{ui} (Aminet:util/wb)

   You know / use the fms system on your drive ?

   Then you know, that mounted fms units will exist on your
   workbench until the reboot. If you have a little workbench
   screen and want to get rid of the icons and units, that
   use memory and screen's space ?

   Then use HFRemove - it removes these units systemfriendly !

   It also has features like sleep mode (-> unpacking), running
   of HFMount and others !

  @{b}@{i}ActXDx@{ub}@{ui} (Aminet:util/wb)

   You use the xpk-disk system on your drive ?

   Then you know, that the icon(s) of mounted disk(s) won't
   appear at once. So use this tiny program. It needs all
   parameters as tooltypes for usage in the WBStartup.
   It activates one (at the moment) mounted disk and makes
   it ready for use (icon) on your workbench.
