HOUSE PLANTS and CAR DRIVING TUTOR Here is the source code for a couple of programs which I did in Amos Pro but never quite got round to finishing. The code is a bit (A LOT) messy I'm afraid but was done a while ago when I was learning to program, and is badly in need of good algorithms or For Next loops to you. I have also provided the compiled versions so you can still have a peek. They work well enough, but will halt where I ended the programming and may even abort, but those of you who have Amos can waste your lives away trying to finish them if you are so inclined, but be careful, you could finish up as a head banger or something if you over do it, although I have inserted some Rem's in there to help you along. You may find something useful in there to use in your own source. The programs were originally meant to be a HOUSE PLANTS database and a CAR DRIVING TUTOR ( ridiculous eh? ) but I think you'll find the latter one quite amusing ( you'll be in stitches !!). Anyway hope you gain at least some entertainment from them. In the case of the HOUSE PLANTS program it will load up the same picture and text for different plants ( the picture is not even a house plant, but a rockery plant named Haberlea Rhodopensis ). This picture and text is only linked to the first two or three plants listed so it can abort if you try to access others, and needs YOU to add these extras and change the source code accordingly. There are other pics in there but they take the form of drawings and are used to show things like how to repot plants or space seedlings correctly, you get the idea? The DRIVING TUTOR program is a bit more stable I think and most times will just simply halt when the data has run out. There is a font named CARFONT which you need to copy to your fonts directory, the program can't run without it. Last of all you need Amos library in LIBS. All necessary files are supplied, so unless I've forgotten something, that's about it, except to say the source code to both these programs is Public Domain, but if you use the existing art work which includes Bobs, Sprites, Drawings, Pictures and Sounds etc, I require that you give me some credit for that ( and I know it isn't that great ) but if on the off chance you find all this extremely useful and make a finely crafted silk purse out of a very ragged pig's ear, you should in all conscience write in your Doc file the line.. 'Original idea & design by B. Cain' 'cos if you don't you'll be labelled a cad sooner or later. for evidence of your programs origin will always be on this CD so there. E N D
