Unlike , I`ve had masses of time to set up each scene in LightWave and I have tried to make the animation smoother as well as add in a whole lot more detail. @{b}Sliced.anim32@{ub} A shot of the alien ship being sliced in two by some sort of laser beam. To create this shot I used two versions of the alien ship - one complete and one which I had cut into two and added some interior detail such as decks and pipes. Both ships (Complete and DamagedHalf1 and DamagedHalf2) were loaded into Layout with the Damaged ones parented to the Complete model. A laser beam was positioned to slice the Complete ship into two at a certain frame, and under cover of three lens flares (explosions), the Damaged ships were dissolved in and the Complete model dissolved out. The two Damaged halves were keyframed to bank outwards in opposite directions, and a few bits of 'wreckage' were added in to fly out towards the camera. Lastly, a particle ball (stretched on the Z axis) was added at the point of the explosion, expanding over the next few frames and finally fading out. @{b}SpaceFighters.anim32@{ub} A pass of four 'SpaceFighters' (I`m useless at making up cool names) going by the camera. The fighters used LightWave's morphing features to make the wings deploy into attack mode, and the side guns to deploy. The model is based on the Hero`s ship I built for . A few scenes from were included on AF CD-ROM #17 (Thanks guys!) if you want to see any more of my work. The nice nebula in the background is one I found on a CD somewhere. Thanks go to whoever drew it! @{b}Running the Animations@{ub} These are BIG anims and are in HAM8 Hi-Res interlaced for best quality to video. They are set up to load Viewtek from C: and run just by clicking on their icons. Viewtek will run these from the CD-ROM if you don't have enough memory to load them in at once, but you will have to experiment with the 'Buffer_Size' tool-type. Otherwise, you may need BigAnim (On the GFX Sensations CD, or Aminet probably) to run them. Also, go to your Prefs/Icontrol and make sure Mode Promotion is Off, as this will speed up the display. Try changing your screen mode to 2 colour low-res or something to free up as much chip ram as possible if you still have problems. I hope that you can run them and enjoy them! I would appreciate any comments about my work.
