GUESS THE COIN -------------- 1: For this gag, you will need a number of two pence pieces. Say ten, as a reasonable figure. Make sure though that all of them have different dates on them. Also have a cloth bag at the ready. In my day, the cloth pump bag we used at school was ideal for magic tricks because of the draw string which closed the bag, but you can easily make your own. 2: Ask a member of your audience to choose just one of the coins pointing out that he/she should look at the date on the coin and check that all the other coin's dates are different. 3: Ask him/her to hold the coin clenched tightly in their hands whilst concentrating on the date. After about 60 seconds, ask them to place all the coins in the bag and place the coin they chose in with the others. 4: Place the bag behind your back and place your other hand into the bag and pull out their coin. Show it to them, so that they can indeed check that the coin has the date that they concentrated on. You can even let them inspect the bag with the other coins to show them you have'nt cheated. 5: This gag, is quite simple, when you know how! You will know which coin they chose because it will be the warmest one, as they have had it clenched in their fists. Little will they know, though, how you did it.
