You should by now have read about the acquisition of Amiga Technologies by Gateway 2000, a global leader in direct marketing of PCs. So how will this affect the Amiga, it's users and companies such as Weird Science.

Gateway 2000 are a huge company in the PC world with a superb product range that provide very high quality and exceptional value, we in fact use their PCs in our operation. With their expertise at marketing, customer service and delivering high quality, award winning products, the future certainly looks good for the Amiga.

The Amiga has fantastic strengths in the operating system department and with innovative products allowing the integration of the Amiga with the PC platform, providing the best of both worlds, the Amiga will not only continue but grow. Quikpak have already stated they have new Amiga products ready for production, including an Amiga and PC combined in one tower unit. It is certain that they will form an alliance with Gateway and have these new products on the market sooner rather than later.

Weird Science have and always will continue to support the Amiga and we have more new products for release shortly, so watch the news pages. David J. Law, Director of Weird Science had this to say of the Gateway news.

"Weird Science welcomes Gateway 2000 to the Amiga, at last the Amiga has a formidable and visionary partner to help realise the true potential of the Amiga platform. I am sure that with Gateway 2000 the Amiga will be reaching new heights through into the next century."

As more news unfolds of the Gateway aquisition we keep you posted, so again keep an eye on our News pages.
