Amiga Nutta Editorial - 30th April '97

Hi there, I have been busy this week trying to give the Amiga Nutta web site a new look. There been quite a few changes most of which are cosmetic at the moment. The biggest change this week has been on the Release Schedule, this has received a complete re-work and has been split into various parts. There is now seperate Disk and CD-ROM release schedules, it's only when you actually look at the CD-ROM version that you see how many CD games are coming our way, and it's getting bigger all the time.

As far as games news goes this week there been a fair amount of activity, on the bad side of things news that both Silltunna and Mutation had ceased Amiga development comes as quite a shock. This means that we will not get to see games such as Tin Toy 2, Teenagent and Monster Football. Hopefully someone else may pick up the two titles that were due for release by Silltunna, as for Mutations games, I doubt we'll ever see them.

On a positive side of things Maim & Mangle, the Command & Conquer clone that was in development last year but was cancelled has been started up again, I don't have much info about it at the moment but the news that we have another C&C like game can only be good.

Something else which has been talked about a lot recently is the Amiga conversion of Amiga Quake. Well, it seems that DC have completly stopped there port of it and it will not be re-started, however, there has been rumours that another group also got hold of the sources and have been working on a port. A commercial release for Amiga Quake looks very unlikely though as ID Software seem to be very anti-Amiga.

Also don't forget to check out the Genetic Species Preview, yes, I finally for arounf to writing it.
