Amiga Flame brings you an Interview of Petro Tyschtschenko, President of Amiga International and so bringing the answers every Amiga Owner wants to know. I would like to thank Petro Tyschtschenko for taking the time out to answer these questions.

1. Why do you think Gateway 2000 bought the rights to the Amiga and what is your own view of them?

AMIGA has a loyal user base a very good brand name and of course the best technology.

2. There are Amiga owners who are worried with a big PC company now owning the Amiga. Can you as President of Amiga International assure these people that Gateway 2000 will support the Amiga?

Amiga International, Inc. will be treated as a seperate subsidiary of Gateway 2000. Gateway is very excited about the aquisition of AMIGA . They support myself in a great professional way and out of all the meetings with Gateway 2000 I can asure you AMIGA will have a bright future. Please watch our web page, we will continue to report about our progress.

3. I know you can't say much about Gateway 2000's plans on the future of the Amiga but what would you like to see happen to the Amiga? Would you like to see new high spec models?

We need new products. And we have so many new developments already available. Phase 5, PIOS, Index and and and. I will leverage the existing AMIGA technology through broad licensing. My vision is to have an exciting AMIGA product on the entry level, TV linked, with Internet access, and a high end product range , like Phase5, Pios etc.

4. With Gateway 2000 having both the money and market muscle can you see the Amiga getting back to the shops where it should be?

We will be back to the shops, that is for sure. Amiga International is currently planning on reinvigorating the AMIGA name through advertising, conventions, public relations and AMIGA Magazines. As part of the business plan there is money set aside to develop the market place in a profitable manner.

5. Is there any comments you would like to send out to the Amiga Community?

I am so happy that our AMIGA community has supported me always and it was the AMIGA community, gifted by talented people, which have saved our AMIGA .

Thank you for this great support. Long live our AMIGA!
