"Escape From The Vortex" "Wormhole Departure" and "They're Coming .. " by Oliver Wilkinson Hi! These are two pictures created by me while I was bored. Belive it or not, "Wormhole Departure" was my first attempt at modelling and rendering in Cinema 4D! I normally use Imagine 4 and found it fairly easy to change packages. Each picture took roughly 2-4 hours to create, that includes all textures, brushes, backgrounds and processing. The best one, "Escape", took the least time to develop and render. If you want, I can supply the scenes and models (pretty crude) for you to use as you see fit. Just drop me a disk and an SAE. I used the following software to create them: o Texture Studio (texture map creation) o Personal Paint 6.4 (pre- and post-processing) o Cinema 4D 2 (modelling and rendering) o Photogenics 1.2a (post-processing) The times taken to create them were: "Wormhole Departure" 2 hours for the model in C4D (bodged together!) 5 minutes to create the "swirl" wormhole in Photogenics 1 hour 24 minutes for the main render 5 minutes to touch up and blur in Photogenics 10 minutes to scale and save in PPaint Total: Around 4 hours "Escape From The Vortex" 1 hour for the (crap) model in C4D 5 minutes for the photogenics swirly vortex 8 minutes each for the foreground and the background renders 30 minutes for post processing and combining the two Total: Around 2 hours "They're Coming .. " 15 minutes for the saucer model 10 minutes to set up the scene 30 minutes to render Total: Around an hour I have the following setup: o A1200 `030 with 50Mz FPU o 8 Meg of FastRAM o 850 Meg Hard disk o 10 speed CD-ROM drive If you feel the need, contact me at: Oliver Wilkinson, 27, St. Mellion Way, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Notts, NG17 8NN.
