Are you considering using a hard drive with your controller? Now, having seen how to connect the EIDE CD rom to your Amiga via the PCMCIA controller, you may be considering doing this and also trying to use the pass-through cable for a second CD rom drive to connect a second hard drive. This is a nice idea which I thought might work for me so I bought a 3.5" 85MB Seagate hard drive and tried connecting it. The hard drive works but the software controller wouldn't recognise it. This is probably because the software is only designed to be used with EIDE CD rom units and not the older IDE hard drives. Also, there is no mention in the CD1200 controller manual, of success in controlling EIDE CD rom writers. I have seen them advertised in PC magazines but I can't afford to buy one if I can't use it.....who can? If you are considering this sort of upgrade my only advice is to try and borrow a friends drive to use with your controller before you waste your money. Good luck!!!
