Good news on the CD-Rom front with The Rios/ Lebed Project planing to bring four CD-Rom games to the Amiga.

(Demistar_in_game_graphics)The first game they have in development is Demistar which is a game that combines Asteriods, Gravitar, Rip-Off, Choplifter with a common theme.

The game is about a asteroid cleaner who clears out asteroids in regions of space that causes problems for flight traffic. But when members of his team are mysteriously destroyed, he gets pressed into military service as the bait in a plan to lure the unknown enemy out into open. Unfortunately for him the plan fails and it is up to him to take the battle to the enemy.

(Demistar_in_game_graphics)The game makes use of large detailed sprites which are all generated using Lightwave. The game has got in-game cut sequences, it turns out that the same objects in the cut sequences are used in the actual game.

At the moment the requirements are not fully known but all those CD-Rom owners who haven't had many games could be in for a real treat.

Demistar's graphics look excellent

They have another three CD-Rom games in the pipeline so it appears that the CD-Rom games market is coming back. Vulcan Software are also making a CD-Rom game called Hellpigs and Direct Software are developing a CD-Rom game called The Hunting.

If you would like to give your support to the developer then e-mail:-
