More GFX submissions :-) Richard Williams (aka Jimbob) Isleworth, MIDDX jimbob@waltons.demon.co.uk [ http://www.waltons.demon.co.uk ] The following were rendered using Cinema4D version 3 and then retouched in Photogenics 1.2 [ i'm still waiting for ArtEffect 1.5 to pop through the post! ]. Rendering times varied - the longest being about 1hr 40mins - all at 1024x768 24BIT and then converted. System used :- A4000/040 18MB - Cybervision64/3D 4MB GFX card - 1.5GIG HD - and all displayed on a CTX 20" Monitor - loverly stuff!! AMIGA-WORKSTATION.JPG : Based on the version on AFCD11 - added text WORKSTATION onto the reflective plane. BADBOY.JPG : Designed this from scratch. The hands and fingers where designed using the circle polygon - duplicated and then skinned. The cigarette is made from 2 cylinders - the eyes mouth and alight cigarette effect added in Photogenics. The t-shirt logo added in C4D and scalled using the texture tools. BADBOYINBATH.JPG : Used the above and RubThrough one of the PCD pix on AFCD5 [ multimedia tutorial ]. Smoke added using the airbrush in Photogenics. BIGBUNGY-CAT.JPG : Used CinemaFont to create the text, then added a ChromeHorizon texture. The spheres have a golfball texture mapped onto them. Added a lens-flare [ so easy in C4D! ]. Finished in Photogenics. Call 0181-907-1603 to see who BigBungy is ... CYBERGFX-2.JPG : These CYBER* pictures were all done when I installed the Cyber- Vision card and CinemaFont. They all use rendered fonts. This one has some text sitting on blocks of granite. I realised later that it should have said CYBERGRAPX and not CYBERGRAPHICS!! CYBERGFX-3.JPG : This one was just playing with reflections. CYBERGFX-4.JPG : This one utilises a mapped EYE picture onto a plane to emphasise the VISION part of CYBERVISION cards. CYBERGFX-BOOT.JPG : Boot picture created adding a lens flare. I cocked up on the GRAPHX part again.I do like the multicoloured texture in C4D! FLIGHT800X600.JPG : Designed a basic bi-plane with planes and cubes. The propellers where made using a polygon circle - shaped then extruded. Imported a basic terain from CinemaWorld (large detailed ones use too much memory!). Used a lens flare to simulate the sun. JQUEST.JPG : Too much cartoon network inspired this logo. A torus makes up the Q whilst the text was just laid over the top. RINGS.JPG : Mucking about with textures and reflections. The sphere has a silver texture which not only caught the rings but also the sky above. SNOWMAN.JPG : Created from scratch in about 1-2 hours whilst showing off what C4D could do to a mate! The trees are cones - scaled and then a green colour and bumpmap used to give them more feel. The snowman was made up from spheres (should have used perfect ones!). SNOWMAN@NIGHT.JPG : Same picture as above EXCEPT i used MagicLink (superb) to convert a Imagine iob into a C4D one. Added a single light source to create a feeling of darkness. SUNNY-DAY.JPG : Playing with MagicLink I converted the boat and tree. The island was a played about with disc and then a yellow / bumpmap added to give it a sandy feel. Wish I was there .... WALTONS.JPG : Simple text with chrome horizon texture infront of a green triangle. Will be using an animated version of this on my WEB page when PPaint7 comes through the post. XMAS-BALL.JPG : The only IMAGINE 4.0 render! The xmas ball (used as the body in BadBoy!) has a mapped IFF I drew from a xmas card I was sent. The leaves are a mix of normal and holy leaves (though they maybe a bit small too see). I attempted a ribbon which sorth of works. The two oranges had to be re- coloured in Photogenics. XMAS-SUN.JPG : I converted the Imagine xmas-ball into C4D then utilised it with a xmas tree from the snowman pix and stuck them on a bumpmapped sand texture. I am hoping to add a melted snowman at some stage! That completes this months examples. I hope to have ArtEffect and PPaint7 in the next week so will then be looking to add some effects to future renders.
