Wed, 6 Sep 1995 23:19:08 MET o Don't flame me that the Zoom gadget has been removed. This was necessary. Set "IconifyOnClose" to "Yes" in your .elm/elmrc to use the closing gadget as an iconify gadget. Sun, 14 May 1995 21:19:00 MET o If you have trouble with a double realname in your mail headers, read the file "READ-ME-FIRST-!!!" and consult the manual on how to configure AmigaElm to work with your favourite Sendmail program. (small hint, set "FromHeader No" in the .elm/elmrc file, this is a kludge for some broken sendmail programs) Mon, 7 Feb 1994 04:12:33 MET o If you feel that you sent me a mail that is unanswered so far then just send me a quick reminder or the complete mail again. I've the very "bad" habbit that I sometimes totally "forget" mails :-) I leave mail that cannot be answered immediately (or seems to be complicated at the first look) in my incoming folder. New mail comes in... the folder get's bigger and bigger. Then comes the time where mails are not displayed on the first page of the index screen anymore. And that's the point where old mail gets "forgotten" :-) Sorry, this is - of course - my fault. And please don't take it personally. In real life I forget nearly everything :-) So I just need a reminder from time to time. Please, don't hate me -- help me. Thu, 22 Jul 1993 08:38:13 MET o I've changed the version numbering scheme. Every public release gets a new version number. The previous Elm 1.18/1.19 is version 1, this new Elm is version 2. The next Elm will be version 3. The revision number is only important for registered users or small bug fixes (to a recently released public version). Registered users will get several releases with the same version number, but different revision numbers. If you send bug reports, always give the FULL version.revision number! Wed, 25 Nov 1992 00:52:55 MET o And again, and again, and again: You will need "metamail 2.3a" to read all sorts of MIME (multimedia) mails. AmigaElm handles only "text/plain" (except "base64" coding). If you don't want to use metamail then set "Env:NoMetaMail" and "EnvArc:NoMetaMail" to a non-empty string; this prevents AmigaElm from calling Metamail for MIME mails. Metamail is available on "ftp.cs.tu-berlin.de" (Internet FTP) and via normal e-mail from "mail-server@cs.tu-berlin.de". Teenage suicide - don't do it! Fri, 14 Aug 1992 14:53:59 MET o If you are still running AmigaOS 1.3, use the numeric keypad instead of cursor keys for movement. Sun, 22 Mar 1992 17:23:40 MET o Please send in any bug-reports as detailed as possible. What exactly is to do for reproduction of the bug? It might be helpful to include your .elm/elmrc file and the (partial) mail folder. Which version of AmigaOS are you running (c:version)? Enforcer-outputs and such things doesn't mean much to me, sorry... o AmigaElm is Shareware. Mon, 17 Feb 1992 01:51:28 MET o I SAID: INCREASE THE STACK IF THE GURU VISITS YOU !!! (damn folks, aren't you reading the docs?!?) Increasing stack doesn't mean to add three lousy bytes, try "stack 50000", THIS is what I call a REAL STACK... o please install the "reqtools.library" by Nico François (Yes, Nico is his first name :-) Tue, 24 Dec 1991 23:44:38 MET o Elm 1.07 had problems running under OS 2.04 ROMs, (hope it works now) o original source "hwr-mail" by Heiko W.Rupp not included any longer to reduce archive size o do not use "Answer Return-Receipt-To" any longer cause "sendmail" will do this job for you automatically, use instead "Answer Return-View-To" Sun, 20 Oct 1991 14:51:04 MET o if you have problems with gurus increase your stack size o beware of duplicate keywords (within a message and .elm/elmheaders) when writing mails - Elm doesn't combine them, so it depends on your sendmail whether some of the keywords are killed, ignored or modified o to avoid mail traffic DO NOT set the keyword "RequestReturnReceipt" in ".elm/elmrc" to "Yes" by default Fri Oct 04 15:09:48 CET 1991 o look at the file "History.Txt" for changes o send bug reports to "elm-fan@zikzak.in-berlin.de" o do not forget to adjust .elm/elmrc and .elm/elmheaders to YOUR machine (elmheaders contains lots of junk ;-)
