 Explanations 

People/Persons

- The list is sorted alphabetically firstly by Country code (ISO 3166) and secondly by Person's lastname. That offcourse doesn't mean that a person with an address like xxx.org or xxx.com or xxx.net lives to United States. Any corrections refering to this one are welcome. - Everything that comes after a person's name and is enclosed in (), "", '' ussually refers to person's code/nick-name.

- The meaning of fields is :

Company : This is the Company which the person works for, Group : or the Group where he/she belongs to. E-Mail : This is the E-Mail address you should use if you want to contact the person for any reason. WWW : This is the WWW address of the person. Point any WWW browser to this address in order to access his/her pages. IRC : This is the nickname used by this person on IRC. Also the channel (preceded by the symbol #) where he/she can be found on, is included. Fidonet : This is the Fidonet address of the person. Notes : These are special notes about the person. Possible entries include sysops, authors of standards, producers, gfx/sfx artists, etc. Projects : These are the projects created by the person. If you want to refer to a specific project (which is followed by an address enclosed in <>) then you should use that address instead of the general one.

Companies

- The list is sorted alphabetically by Company name.

- The meaning of fields is :

E-Mail : This is the E-Mail address you should use if you want to contact the Company for any reason. Note that usually this address refers to the president of the Company (the name of the person the address is refering to is enclosed in ()). FTP : This is the FTP address of the Company. Use this address in order to access the Company's FTP site. WWW : This is the WWW address of the Company. Point any WWW browser to this address in order to access the Company's pages. Fidonet : This is the Fidonet address of the Company. Note that usually this address refers to the president of the Company (the name of the person the address is refering to is enclosed in ()). Activities : This is what the Company is dealing with. Also a list of companies which this company is a distributor for, is included. Products : These are the products developed and distributed by the Company. If the company is a distributor for another company then check the other's company entry in order to find the complete range of distributed products.

Dealers/Vendors

- The list is sorted alphabetically by Dealer/Vendor name. The next version will be hopefully sorted by Country name.

- The meaning of fields is :

E-Mail : This is the E-Mail address you should use if you want to contact the Dealer/Vendor for any reason. Note that usually this address refers to the president (the name of the person the address is refering to is enclosed in ()). FTP : This is the FTP address of the Dealer/Vendor. Use this address in order to access the Dealer/Vendor's FTP site. WWW : This is the WWW address of the Dealer/Vendor. Point any WWW browser to this address in order to access the Dealer/Vendor's pages. Fidonet : This is the Fidonet address of the Dealer/Vendor. Note that usually this address refers to the president (the name of the person the address is refering to, is enclosed in ()). Products : These are the products distributed by the Dealer/Vendor. If some of them are "special", their names are included. Otherwise the phrase "Complete range of ..." is included.

Groups/Teams

- The list is sorted alphabetically by Group/Team name.

- The meaning of fields is :

E-Mail : This is the E-Mail address you should use if you want to contact the Group/Team for any reason. Note that usually this address refers to a member of the Group/Team (the name of the person the address is refering to is enclosed in ()). FTP : This is the FTP address of the Group/Team. Use this address in order to access the group/team's FTP site. WWW : This is the WWW address of the Group/Team. Point any WWW browser to this address in order to access the group/team's pages. Fidonet : This is the Fidonet address of the Group/Team. Note that usually this address refers to a member of the Group/Team (the name of the person the address is refering to is enclosed in ()). Activities : This is what the Group/Team is dealing with. Projects : These are the projects created/developed by the Group/Team.

BBS

- The list is sorted alphabetically firstly by Continent/Country/State name and secondly by BBS name.

- The meaning of fields is :

Sysop : This is the Sysop's name. What follows enclosed in <> is his/her e-mail address. E-Mail : This is the E-Mail address you should use if you want to contact the BBS for any reason. Note that usually this address is the same with the sysop's e-mail address if a general one doesn't exist. FTP : This is the FTP address of the BBS (rarely used). WWW : This is the WWW address of the BBS. Point any WWW browser to this address in order to access the BBS's pages. Telnet : Use this address to telnet into the BBS. If a port number is specified too, use that one too. Fidonet : This is the Fidonet address of the BBS. Note that usually this address is the same with the sysop's Fidonet address if a general one doesn't exist. Amiganet : This is the Amiganet address of the BBS. Note that usually this address is the same with the sysop's Amiganet address if a general one doesn't exist. Notes : These are notes about the "interests" of the BBS. Lines : These are the phone numbers you should use to contact the BBS. Usually the first part of the number is enclosed in () and refers to the country code. What follows after the phone number (and is also enclosed in ()) is the modem type and speed used by the BBS.

Mailing Lists

- The list is sorted alphabetically by ML (Mailing List) name.

- The meaning of fields is :

E-Mail : This is the address you should use to get various info regarding the ML or if you have any problems with the ML. What follows, enclosed in (), is the name of the person (usually the maintainer) the address is refering to. SubscribeAd : Send email to this address in order to (un)subscribe to/from the ML. SubscribeCm : Send these commands to the above address in order to (un)subscribe. If this field is empty, then try to send a HELP command. NOTE : EmailAddress = your email address (eg.: chatasos@teia.ariadne-t.gr) FirstName = your first name (eg.: Tassos) LastName = your last name (eg.: Hadjithomaoglou) [] = optional field Mail : Use this address if you want to send something to the ML, after you have subscribed. If this field is empty, then most probably you can use the Subscribe address or the address returned to you by the ML after the subscription. FTP : This is the FTP address you should use if you want to access the ML's archives. Notes : These are notes about the purpose of the ML.

Newsgroups

- The list is sorted alphabetically by Newsgroup name.

- The meaning of fields is :

News : This is the name of the newsgroup. Point any newsreader to news:<name> to access that particular newsgroup. Notes : These are notes about the purpose/interests of the newsgroup. Moderator : This is the moderator's name. If this field exists, then you should contact him/her (use the e-mail address enclosed in <>) in order to make a posting.

Zines

- The list is sorted alphabetically by Zine name.

- The meaning of fields is :

E-Mail : This is the E-Mail address you should use if you want to contact the zine for any reason. This is usually the same with the editor's e-mail address if a general one doesn't exist. WWW : This is the WWW address of the zine. Point any WWW browser to this address in order to access the zines's pages. Editor : This is the editor's name. Use the e-mail address enclosed in <> if you want to refer specifically to him/her.

WWW Resources

- The list is sorted alphabetically by WWW Resource name.

- The meaning of fields is :

E-Mail : This is the E-Mail address you should use if you want to contact the maintainer of the Web Page for any reason (the name of the person the address is refering to is enclosed in ()). WWW : This is the WWW address. Point any WWW browser to this address in order to access the particular Web page. Notes : These are notes about the contents of the Web page.
