Message Menu Help ----------------- A - Area Change Allows you to select a different message conference. G - Good-Bye When you want to log of the board, use this command. DO NOT DROP CARRIER OR YOUR ACCESS WILL BE LOWERED. L - List Message Headers This command allows you to quickly browse through messages, showing only the subject, who wrote it, and who it was sent to. N - Next Message This command will allow you to read the next available message in the current area. You may also press RETURN to do exactly the same thing. = - Continuous Read Displays messages non-stop starting at a specified message number. Useful if you just wish to capture messages for offline reading. W - Write Message This command allows you to post messages to other users on the system. When you select this command, you will be first prompted who you want to send the message to. If you do not wish to address the message to one particular person, enter 'ALL'. You will then be asked if for the subject, this should just be one or two words describing what the message is about. Note, all echomail is public mail, and all Netmail is privileged mail. F - Forward Message Allows you to take a current message and send a copy of it to another user, and even in another message area. Q - Quit to Main Menu This takes you back to the Main Menu of the BBS. V - View a Message This allows you to read one specific message without altering your last read pointer. J - Jump to Message This reads a specfic message and alters your last read pointer accordingly. R - Read Mode Allows you to select either regular, personal, or marked reading mode. Regular, all available messages are displayed to you when you go to read messages. In personal mode, only those address TO you will be shown. And in marked mode, only messages that have been marked will be displayed. Note that messages found during a check for messages to you are automatically marked. O - Mask Out Conference If you don't wish to participate in the current conference, you may mask it out, and it will be completely hidden to you unless you try to enter it again. S - Scan Message Headers Allows you to search the messages in the current conference for a text string in the To:, From: and Subject: fields. If you wish, you can have found messages marked for easy retrieval.
