Again I come to file_id.diz thingies :-)

Want to edit file_id.diz INSIDE any archive ?? Here is how !

Go to config editor in opus, choose filetypes, and pick (for example)
LHA.archives. Pick event USER3, and enter:

AmigaDOS    C:LHA x {fu} FILE_ID.DIZ ram:
AmigaDOS    C:CED ram:FILE_ID.DIZ
AmigaDOS    C:WaitBUTTON
AmigaDOS    C:LHA d {fu} FILE_ID.DIZ
AmigaDOS    C:LHA a {fu} ram:FILE_ID.DIZ
AmigaDOS    C:DELETE ram:FILE_ID.DIZ

DO ALL FILES
OUTPUT WINDOW as flags.

(in order: line 1 -> EXtract file_id.diz
           line 2 -> use CED in C: to edit the file
           line 3 -> Wait till you are ready editing
           line 4 -> DELETE FILE_ID.diz from archive
           line 5 -> ADD FILE_ID.diz to archive
           line 6 -> delete file_id.diz from ram: )

Make a button labeled EDIT ID, and enter command USER3, set
DO ALL FILES
INCLUDE DOPUS-STARTUP
OUTPUT WINDOW
as flags, and try it on a LHA-archive...

EXAMPLE 2:

in filetypes pick DMS archive, select USER3 as an event, and enter:

AmigaDOS    C:DMSDESCRIPT x ram:FILE_ID {fu}
AmigaDOS    C:CED ram:FILE_ID
AmigaDOS    C:WaitBUTTON
AmigaDOS    C:DMSDESCRIPT d {fu}
AmigaDOS    C:DMSDESCRIPT a ram:FILE_ID {f}
AmigaDOS    C:DELETE ram:FILE_ID

DO ALL FILES
OUTPUT WINDOW
as flags.

(in order:  same as for LHA-archive...above)

Return to OPUS, pick a DMS archive, and choose the button made with LHA
just a minute ago (EDIT ID ?). Hey, this is fun. It lets me edit (add) a
file_id to a dms archive !!

You can use the button with every archive (even executables using
exedescript !) that supports unpacking of a specified file, than
deleting it, and adding a new file to the archive (read the DOCS...).
AS LONG AS YOU ADD THE CORRECT COMMAND TO USER3 IN THE FILETYPES !

PS. You can ofcourse change C:CED to YOUR fav editor !!
