CHARLEY CAT 13: CAMERA-RADERIE © 1995 Anthony Whitaker 7/1/96 Hi, there, Amiga fans and all that stuff. Welcome to my latest cartoon starring that now-famous (?) cat, Charley. Even in these troubled times as far as the Amiga is concerned, I reckon we all could do with a bit of cheering-up, and this cartoon may help. Charley made his début in OUT IN PUBLIC, got sand in his toes in DOWN AT THE SEA, got the bird in HOW TO CATCH A CANARY, had rodent trouble in MOUSTERMIND, had a taste of snow in SNOW JOKE (deemed by many to be one of the best Amiga anims of 1993), went to the cinema in AT THE FLIX!, met a psychotic vet in IN SICKNESS AND IN HEALTH, had hairy moments in DANDRUFF DUO, returned to the beach in CORAL QUARREL, befriended a feline martial arts master from Japan in JAP CAT JAPES (best anim of 1994 at the Future Entertainment Show), dealt with some common garden problems in GARDENING CAT and became a western hero in COWBOY CATS (considered by my friends to be the best cartoon I've ever done - and the magazine reviews have been very favourable towards this one). Oh, and he also starred in A CHARLEY CAT CHRISTMAS SPECIAL. But here we have CAMERA-RADERIE (based around the word "camaraderie" which basically means "friendship") in which Charley and his beautiful girlfriend Alyson take their cameras and try to win a competition in which a grand can be won if their picture is considered to be the best entry. However, being a cat-hater, the evil dog Mutch (who was last seen in JAP CAT JAPES), is out to get them - and no, he will not treat Alyson any differently as she is still a cat - and Mutch absolutely LOATHES cats! Regular viewers may have noticed a change in appearance for Alyson. I decided looking back over my storyboards that somehow I was not happy with her having a similar grin to Charley any more, so I changed her features somewhat - I made her wear lipstick, gave her a smaller mouth, a smaller nose and slightly smaller eyes. The result is in my opinion that she now looks more beautiful, more petite and (most importantly) more feminine than in the previous cartoons. And "Mutch", by the way, is pronounced "Mootch", not "much". WARNING: Although the cartoon itself is freely distributable (you may make copies, provided that everything on the original disks is on the copy in its original unchanged format), the graphics and characters are copyright and may NOT be used without my permission. SPECIAL WARNING: CAMERA-RADERIE has been split into two parts for memory reasons - you will need 2.5Mb to run the cartoon. I also recommend that you use either a hard disk and/or extra floppy drives, as you will be swapping disks until your arms ache or something otherwise. The cartoon is SHAREWARE. If you like it, please send a small fee to me (£2 minimum) at the address below: Anthony Whitaker, 1 Trent Crescent, Thatcham, Nr Newbury, Berkshire RG13 3DN, England If you have any queries about this or any other anims of mine, do drop me a line at the same address. SPECIAL NOTES ABOUT CAMERA-RADERIE: (1) It took nearly four months to make, and lasts about 4.5 minutes. (2) Mutch, the evil dog, is based on a dog one of my aunts and uncles have in their home in Penarth. (3) As with my previous few, 68020 processors will speed up certain parts of the cartoon. (4) This cartoon was originally going to be titled "Safari So Good", but I decided that everyone might think of Africa if they saw this title (even though a safari doesn't have to be in Africa) and was afraid that people may get the wrong idea about its theme, so I changed it. I then thought of "Candid Cat" before deciding to use "Camera-raderie". (5) Musical Score: "Charley's Song" (Whitaker) THANKS FOR READING - ENJOY THE CARTOON
