Hi Folks!, The picture file(s) contained herein can be freely copied, distributed and manipulated, but please remember to include this ReadMe file when moving them from board to board. As usual, anybody who wants the Real3d project files can obtain them from me on the Activa BBS (081 986 5964). Also any comments suggestions and criticisms are more than welcomed. This image took about 1.5 hours to model from scratch, and approx 2.5 hours rendering time on an A4000, with another 10 minutes in DPaint, hiding all the dodgy rendering problems with the BLUR tool. If anybody out there knows where I can learn all about freeform modelling in Real 1.4 (the manual is sadly lacking in this department!), then I would be very interested to know about it, because at the moment most of my freeform objects look a bit like they have some kind of elephantitus-related disease! Also, I'm keen to know why, when using freeform meshes, triangular patches of irregular shading appear, ruining an otherwise smooth surface. If anyone knows the answers to these questions, and feels in a charitable mood, then I can be contacted through the above BBS. Thanks for your time, Matt Bell / Amber Developments Feb 1995
