Subject: [IML] IFW: Texture Bugs Here is a list of bugs to be fixed that I have compiled from my own research and also from email sent to the IML and myself. Once all of the excitement of Org. dies down and we get to focus on Imagine again, hopefully Impulse will have time to fix these. I am suprised how few I found actually. All in all Imagine is a fairly stable program compared to some I have used. If any of you have found some bugs that are not mentioned on this list please send them to me. Right now this list deals only with texture bugs so please send me bug reports about textures if you have them. Please don't waste bandwidth by posting to the list, email me privately and I will send the completed list to Impulse when done. s.g. Bugs in IFW Textures: Blast.itx - Transparency slider does not work. Will not allow for non-transparent adjustement. Nor will it allow you hit apply button after slider is moved. Dirt.itx - Texture color/reflect values automatically set themselves to a red color in the reflect and transparency settings. Dthstar.itx - Default color of bump is bright red, changing the size of the bump width destroys the randomness of the plates into perfect squares. DETHSTR.itx. It looks fine until you edit the parameters. The COLOR switches to RED, if the color tab is initially selected (ala dirt) and the noise dissappears if you change the eccentricity in the CONTROLS tab. You can get SOME eccentricity back by playing with the numbers, but it doesn't look right. Easywood.itx - When going into change parameters reflect and filter values are turned all the way up. Jersey.itx - When going into change parameters reflect and filter values are turned all the way up. Light Attribs: Set the Light intensity to 240, then if I save the object, and look at the objects attributes again... The Light intensity is change to some wierd number, like 239.866387 ... Or something like that. Stained Glass.itx - I've tried to make the stained glass texture work in different ways . It seems like as soon as I start modifying the preset the texture "shrinks" - it remains this way even if I set it back to the original settings . This happens when I try to adjust the transparency , and sometimes only by changing colours! The final result looks a bit like concrete. Spark.itx: I think I found a small bug in the Sparks texture. When you change the nois2 or turbulence2 parameters the apply button dose not light up. Could someone verify this? Ribbed.itx: Found the texture color for RIBBED.DLL texture doesn't save. It is always one shade of red. Can anyone confirm....? --------------------------------- Date: Fri, 28 Nov 1997 23:03:45 -0600 From: "Stephen G." The horizon fade distance doesn't seem to work , the numbers seem to reset themselves to very low values unlike the IFD version which would go up to 10,000 units or more. This is a real problem when working with clouds so I have added it to my texture bug list. Thanks for all of the people sending me bug reports and if I don't answer you I apologize but I have recieved bug reports from several people and am compiling all of this into a list for sending to Impulse. Please continue to send them to me as I am still very much involved in making this a complete list.
