If I have an object with subgroups and I create several states, the states must be applied to the parent of the object otherwise they will not be available in the stage editor. I only ask this because it appears you can assign states to subgroups but you can't do anything with them or am I missing something here. Thanks for any help. ---------------------------------- Date: Sun, 19 Apr 1998 09:26:27 -0700 From: Clae & Deborah Tanett Hi Darran Clae here You're right about the parent part... "states must be applied to the parent of the object otherwise they will not be available in the stage editor."... but the use of assigning to subgroups is really important (one of the major features I use). If you want to experiment with a hand on a figure you can make many subhand motions and leave them stored in the subgroup as hand.000, hand.001... etc with the options States/Grouping until you need one for and anim; then you select that subgroup States do any update on the whole parent/bones States/motion. Doesn't hurt to store them there and it's a great way to build up a 'library' of motions for future use. Just select and apply as needed to main. It's great for doing tweens on arms and legs... I don't know more than I do it all the time. All I have to do is select that subgroup, choose the state, do an bones update then set the whole thing. As I play in the Detail I build a 'Motion Library'. ---------------------------------- Date: Sun, 19 Apr 1998 20:30:08 +0100 From: Darran Williams Thanks Clae, Thats cleared that up for me. ----------------------------------
