(Hope this isn't a waste of bandwidth). Here's something I just found out the other day (maybe I'm a little slow at times): I've always thought it was a pain to have to add an axis, then select it and move it to where I want it to be. (This is mainly for bones, but I think it also will work with spheres for blobs too.) What I realized was that the axis always gets added in the center of the view, so use the "recenter" tool: Click the recenter icon, click where you want the axis (the view will recenter) then press F4 to place the axis!
