Hello All: I just got my Phase 5 PPC Power Up board installed in my A3000. It is the 200 MHz 604e and they transferred my 50 MHz 68060 and 64 Mb of RAM from my Cyberstorm Mk II. I have Imagine 5.0 installed on my system. Imagine worked on the Mk II without any problems, with a 10X or so increase in speed over my 030. However, Imagine will NOT run with my PPC board installed. When I execute Imagine, I get the following message: Program Failed (error #8000000B) Wait for disk activity to finish. Suspend Reboot I also get this message when I try to run Real 3D, Forge, and Vista. However, I do NOT have a problem with the demo of Cinema 4D, Scala, AmigaVision, The Art Department, and other programs. I have different problems with ImageFX and Movieshop (both have missing library errors that show up). I thought that the executable of Imagine might have been corrupted during the installation, because I had a UW SCSI drive installed as well as the PPC board. I reinstalled IM 50 from the disks last night (why does it not put an ICON in the Workbench Drawer, by the way?). I get the same error. 1) Does anyone know what error 8000000B means? I get the SAME error for Real 3D, Forge, and Vista). 2) Has anyone else seen this and have an answer? Thanks for any help. Imagine is the program I use the most, and I bought the PPC board SPECIFICALLY in anticipation of the PPC-optimized Imagine 6.0. --------------------------------- Date: Fri, 16 Jan 1998 19:05:57 +0000 From: "Matthew O'Neill" Organization: Cosmic! Thats an emulator error, which is the fpu. install executive from aminet and it will tell you exactly whats wrong. --------------------------------- Date: Sat, 17 Jan 1998 00:40:51 EST From: AOLTechJOE Organization: AOL (http://www.aol.com) IIRC it is a memory error. You might want to install (gasp!) MCP and set it to capture GURUs. The guru data file lists the GURU and what causes it if possible. And usually prevents a system shut down from bad apps. Also you can try running Enforcer before running Imagine to see if it catches anything. --------------------------------- From: Martin McKenzie Organization: CADTech On 16-Jan-98, Scott Sutherland wrote: >When I execute Imagine, I get the following message: > (error #8000000B) >I also get this message when I try to run Real 3D, Forge, and Vista. a) It could be that the Phase5 dummy 68040.library and new 68060.library were not installed as described in the notes. Try typing CPU060 in a shell window and see if the 060 is being detected. b) Make sure you dont have any replacement math#? libraries installed - The Phase5 documentation states that the original math#? libraries from your OS disks must be installed in libs: c) It could be a problem with files becoming corrupted while they are being written to your UW SCSI drive - Since you have some spare RAM capacity, Use the install disks to install Vista or Imagine directly to the RAM disk, and see if they work from there. d) Try running Cyberguard. e) Double check that the 'Happy new year' virus is not lurking on your system. ----------------------------------------- From: Georges Segel Hello Scott The installer doesn't work very well. Take the System Disk of Phase5 and copy 68060.library and 68040.library in your libs. Without to forget to put PPC.library and PPCdiss.library After all is operational ! you go on the site Phase5 and you get back the news Updates. :-) ppcbeta-V45_5.lha 1458288 ----rwed Mercredi 00:16:13 68060-V43_0a.lha 179483 ----rwed 21-Déc-97 19:58:40 scsitools_update1.lha 102135 ----rwed 04-Jan-98 17:39:02 ppctool.lha 16843 ----rwed 04-Jan-98 17:37:02 musicinppc-v1_4.lha 139858 ----rwed Jeudi 22:55:30 lwShowPPC-V1_6.lha 445085 ----rwed 04-Jan-98 17:34:54 lha_ppc.lha 225288 ----rwed 04-Jan-98 17:36:30 Benoit-V2_0.lha 85088 ----rwed 21-Déc-97 19:59:52 Segel Georges ---------------------------------
