I can convert the nice tree/plants objects into dxf files with the -3 and -d option. And the import them into IFW. No problem. BUT. Everything is the same color. Leaves/trunk EVERYTHING is grey. Is there any way to keep the leaves in one object, and the trunk and branches in another object? Thank you. --------------------------------- Date: Sat, 4 Oct 1997 17:24:31 -0500 From: Bruce Van Horn Why not just import the dxf, copy it a few times in detail edtior, then edit points and chop the model up, making each a separate object. Then you can join them back together as a group. This is how I do my plants. I even create states in the leaves where I alter their shapes slightly then morph between them to simulate a light breeze. --------------------------------- Date: Sun, 5 Oct 1997 00:31:19 -0500 From: Happo Hi I found "one" thing out when I was playing with Lparser. If your tree/object has got triangular, one poly - leafs you can use Imagine´s edge filter, choise select by face angle, and accept default values. Now everything else than leafs are picked, and it is easy to create subgroups to trunk and leafs. Another thing I found out is that leaves look pretty much cooler if you first give them nice greenish color, add concrete texture and size it, and add fakely to fade out the edges, it looks pretty damn realistic when rendering it in high resolutions, but it wont animate well. You could also try using -i option with trees, makes them look really nice. Im also putting two simple animations to my site in couple of days. One with animated Lobster object (bit modified) from Lparser, and some little "fish" objects I did with Lparser and modified in Imagine. And one with some other simple objects created with Lparser. Only problem I´m having is that it takes 2 hours/frame to trace that lobster with only 2 lights in 320*200 with my p133 80MB, and both of ´em are 200 frames long :)
