Date: Sun, 12 Apr 1998 18:24:22 +0800 From: Kathryn Foston Hi everyone.... Well.... while sitting alone here this easter afternoon, I decided to quickly put up a new tutorial...... It's called "Grooovy" http://www.space.net.au/~transtech/tapeifw.htm Enjoy ---------------------------------- Date: Sun, 12 Apr 1998 11:36:59 +0100 From: George Cole Nice. Unfortunately you have called it "Floorboards for IFW tutorial" in the title. Would be useful for making a vinel (sp?). Anyway, thanks for the tutorial, ---------------------------------- Date: Sun, 12 Apr 1998 09:19:43 -0700 From: Jan Brigham Thanks for the tutorial. BTW the link for the AB textures doesn't work. I have tried several link/tutorial pages & the links don't work either. Maybe he has changed his web address. Anyone know? ---------------------------------- Date: Sun, 12 Apr 1998 15:25:32 +0000 From: Nigel Denton-Howes Hey Jan, Alan's textures are at his new site, which has been around for quite a while now. http://www.alibi-images.com/ Hope I got the spelling right.. :' ) ---------------------------------- Date: Sun, 12 Apr 1998 15:35:56 +0000 From: Nigel Denton-Howes Shoot, it seems I spoke too soon! No more alibi-images, I guess. If you can't find his textures anywhere else on the net I'll be happy to email them your way, or put them up on a temporary page. I don't think Alan would mind too much. ---------------------------------- Date: Mon, 13 Apr 1998 10:25:52 +0800 From: Kathryn Foston Well, it seems Alibi images is down, but don't despair. All PD IFW textures (and others) are still on the Imagine FTP site. Just go to ftp://ftp.uidaho.edu/pub/graphics/imagine/textures/ You'll find them there Hope that helps... ---------------------------------- Date: Mon, 13 Apr 1998 03:22:52 +0400 From: Charles Blaquiere Kathryn, one comment. As far as the tutorial goes, it's perfect! Easy to follow, yet shows important techniques for adding realism to an object. It may take some time for beginners to "get it" and realize that complexity often depends more on texturing than object geometry. One suggestion: users who don't have Ingvar's texture can use a duplicate of the brush, in Color mode with Mix/Morph set to 0.2, to vary the tape reel's color to match its bumps. ----------------------------------
