This version is for MC68020 and higher. A MC68000 version may be found

AmiComSys is a AMarquee client program which you use to communicate with
other people on a tcp/ip-net - e.g Internet. At the same time it make it
easier to find people's IP-addresses and homepages.

Now you can say Hi! to your friends on the net, or just see if they are
connected.

You can:
* send text messages
* send chat requests
* send WEB-requests.
* transfer files.
* have a public chat
* have a private chat.

Future updates will include more.

Please put it in your Online-script or wbstartup drawer and enjoy ...

AmiComSys requires amarquee.library v.47+ in LIBS:. Get it from
the AMarquee-package - aminet:comm/net/AMarqueeX.xx.lha

and Magic User Interface (MUI) version 3.8 or higher

and NList.mcc by Gilles Masson, available at Aminet:dev/mui/MCC_NList0_75.lha

and BetterString.mcc by Allan Odgaard. Included in the archive
(MUI/libs/BetterString.mcc). Does only work with Kickstart 3.0+. See
below for Kickstart 2.0

optionally you may also use NewString.mcc by Rüdiger Sopp. (found in
the Ibrowse-archive)

or Textinput.mcc by Oliver Wagner (found at ftp://ftp.vapor.com/misc/textinput_13.xx.lzx)

Textinput.mcc is required if you are using Kickstart 2.04. You may download
it at the above address.

Note that the above only apply if your friends is using AmiComSys,
and have an Amiga. ( An IBM-PC-version of AMarquee.library would
be nice, or better a java class :-))

NEW: Added client list settings. You may choose to highlight friends, show all, or hide clients
     which is not your friends. Which information which is showed is costumizable in the settings.
     That setting may also be modified with the Settings/Show in list'-menu item.

     The Friendsbook is now saved everytime a client is added with the Add-button found in
     the main window.

     Now uses AMarquee.library version 47.

     Optimized the SendFile a bit. It's now using asynchronous loading and saving, and AMarquee v.47's
     new Multithread-support functions. And should also be be bit safer now.

     The Private Chat is also using AMarquee v.47's multithread-support functions, and therefore
     some child tasks were eliminated. They are only created when AmiComSys get a connection
     from another host (before they were always created at the start of AmiComSys).

     Added arexx commands GET NUMCONNECTED and GET LISTSHOWMODE. 'NUMCLIENTS' now
     gives the number of lines in the contact list, in difference to the 'NUMCONNECTED',
     which gives the number of alive clients in your contactlist. That two may
     differ if you use the 'show friends/hide others'-show mode of the client list.

     Did a new server software for the AmiComSys Server.

     The history buffer window's layout changed a bit. You may now remove selected messages.
     Load, Save as and Save as ascii added to menu. Auto save. See Settings-Windows-Message History page.

     Added path settings for Sendfile on the Misc-settings-page.

     Empty lines in chat windows are not sent now.

     The say-text-field now keeps being activated, even though you click on other gadgets in
     the chat window (not obviously the topic-text field ...).
     (This is unfortunately not completly true if you are using NewString.mcc.
     You may change text-field-type (from Newstring.mcc to another) in the Program-variuos-settings)
     If someone have developer information for Newstring.mcc I would be very delighted if you
     could send it to me. My try to contact the author failed :-(

BUGFIX: Fixed a possible corrupt memory list.

    Fixed a enforcer hit which happened when switching from invisible to online status.

    An Enforcer hit when one requested client info of a client using AmiComSys 1.15 or lower, fixed.
