Many Options are deactivated by default. Read the documentation! There are
a lot of Options that help you avoiding Deadlocks and other Problems.

To avoid Stack-problems with some programs you should install StackAttack
on your computer. For example when I remove it from my Startup-Sequence,
every time I type "list cd0:" in a Shell when there's no CD in the Drive,
the Computer crashes after having replied the Requester (telling me that
there's no Disk in the Drive) that pops up. You can find this program
in the "Tools"-Directory. Have a look at the ReadMe there!

Attack falls back to "<GUI-File>". Therefore if you want to translate the
GUI-File call it "<GUI-File>.<LanguageName>". Examples:

    "PowerWindows.gui.deutsch"        "PowerWindows.gui.italiano"


The preferences program:

Starting with V1.0 you finally get a preferences program. It needs OS 3.0
to run and MUI. This program was my first ever MUI-program (it took me
hours to get the Image+Text Buttons working correctly (there was some
trashing when using XEN Button Frames (the ones that scroll the content
one pixel right and down when clicking on the Button))) You can change the
look of the images if you want (they can be found in the "Images"-Directory,
the original ones were ripped from "MaxonCPP Pro 4.0" - I hope they don't
mind). The program is called "PrefsAttack" because I want to use it not
only for PW but for future projects, too. Therefore the program needs a
GUI-File (describing the GUI - you can change it (translate it, split it
into more groups/pages etc - for PW it's called "PowerWindows.gui") and a
PIO-File (a [P]references [I]nput [O]utput File that contains the Routines
PrefsAttack calls when the User hits the Save-Gadget, Use-Gadget, etc. -
for PW it's called "PowerWindows.pio"). Note that PrefsAttack tries to
open "<GUI-File>.<LanguageName>" and if such a File doesn't exist Prefs-
Attack falls back to "<GUI-File>". Therefore if you want to translate the
GUI-File call it "<GUI-File>.<LanguageName>". Examples:

    "PowerWindows.gui.deutsch"        "PowerWindows.gui.italiano"

PrefsAttack supports Online-Help. Press HELP to make the PowerWindows 
Documentation pop up.

Maybe there's someone interested in using PrefsAttack for it's own pro-
grams? You are actually *not* allowed to include PrefsAttack in your pro-
grams (archives)!!!! Contact me if you want me to release PrefsAttack se-
parately (as Shareware) containing the Developper-Information you need to
create PIO-Files.

Note: "USE" and "TEST" is actually not supported by "PowerWindows.pio"!

If you have already used an older Version of PowerWindows:

PowerWindows now has a CLI-Argument "HOMEDIR". There's also a Tooltype
with the same name if you start PowerWindows from Workbench (or from
WBStartup). Have a look at the Installation Chapter of the documentation.
If you want to know something about the new Features have a look at
the History and Configuration Chapters.

Before using the new Version you should remove PowerWindows from the
Startup-Sequence/User-Startup/WBStartup if your old Version was there.
Reboot your Computer after that. Don't install the new Version immediately!
Try it out from Workbench. Many things have changed, and it might be
possible that the new Version doesn't work anymore. I have included a
little Program ("PW_QUIT") that sends PowerWindows a CTRL_C forcing it
to quit, if possible. If quitting fails, you will see a Flash on the
Screen (DisplayBeep). This happens, if other Programs have patched one
or more Functions PowerWindows had patched first.
