README.TEXT - IE/DOpus5 Support Documentation ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The scripts in this directory are written for users of the disk util Directory Opus 5.x. They perform various tasks in IE but with main control from DOpus. DOpus is ideal for batch processing of images and easy handling of file information. The scripts require DOpus 5.0 or higher and ImageEngineer 3.0 or higher. They do not support DOpus 4.x or lower since those versions use a completely different set of arexx commands. Both DOpus and IE must be running when the scripts are executed. Included support files ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "buttons/IE_Functions" - a ready-to-use button bank for DOpus5 with all currently available DOpus support functions. Parts of the functions in the button bank requires that the support ARexx scripts have been installed in REXX:. See the ReadMe file in the ARexx support directory for more info. "images/IE.small" - an ILBM brush that can be used in the DOpus5 toolbar and/or button bank. For instance, you can make the icon load the IE button bank by using the built-in command "LoadButtons". "arexx/IE_Import.dopus5" - imports all selected files in the source dir into Image Engineer. Only input from one source lister will be used. "arexx/IE_Convert.dopus5" - converts all selected files in the source dir to a user-specified output format. Output can be either in raw or rendered format. Rendering of output supports locking of a single user-selected palette for all converted images. Output files will be saved to destination dir. Only input from one source lister will be used. »> NOTE that some fileformats do *not* support certain number of <« »> bitplanes and/or image sizes. If you do not select the correct <« »> output format the script will fail to save those images. Read <« »> the SuperView-Library manual for more info about file formats. <« "arexx/IE_BatchProcess.dopus5" - is a IE batch system executer script. It uses IE batch scripts to multi-process image sequnces. It lets you set options for first and last frame and will automatically twine those values through the file sequence. Read the "IE_batch_system.guide" for more info. Install & use support files ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Very simple. Use the included install script. It will copy all files to their corresponding directory in the "DOpus5:" directory. (where DOpus is installed) To use, just load the button bank, select your images and press a button! Note: The functions "IX Change", "IX Clone", "IX Reverse" requires that you *only* select the *first* and *last* file in the range you want to process. This is because the scripts are not written specifically for DOpus5 but for DOS in general.
