Leningrad is the second largest city in Russia. Until 1914, it was named Leningrad but from 1914-24 the name was changed to Petrograd. From 1730 to 1918, it was the capital of Russia, but in 1919 <l:ec_moscow> became the capital city again. The harbor is very important to civilians as well as for naval purposes.
