Hearts ver. 6.6 Dear Hearts Player: Hearts now has a new "Install" service that will aid in the transferring (copying) of Hearts from this disk to its permanent residence on your computer. To use this service place your Hearts' disk in the appropriate drive and change to that drive by typing its drive letter followed by a colon, then press . Example: A: Once your DOS prompt shows the drive letter in which the Hearts' disk was placed, type INSTALL and press . Example: A:> INSTALL The "Install" service will ask you for the location, on your system, to which you would like to place Hearts. Type in the desired location and press . Example: C:\GAMES\HEARTS If the location given does not exist, the install facility will create it for you and copy the program files to this new location. The following files are copied by the install service and need to be present for it of operate properly. HEARTS.EXE HEART65.DAT HEART65.TXT REGISTER.TXT HEARTS.ICO HEARTS.PIF WINDOWS.TXT This version of Hearts uses a new data and text file (HEART66.DAT HEART66.TXT) format and is not compatible with earlier versions of Hearts' support files. If you are upgrading from a previous version of Hearts and do not use the new "install" service, then be sure to copy the new HEART66.DAT and HEART66.TXT files along with the new HEARTS.EXE file. There is a new file with this release of Hearts entitled WINDOWS.TXT. This file contains information explaining the installation and starting of Hearts for Windows 3.x. If you are a Windows user and would like to play Hearts from within the Windows environment, then please read this file. A Hearts Icon (HEARTS.ICO) and Program Information File (HEARTS.PIF) for Windows also are provided with this release. Enjoy!
