REMOTE.DO by Ed Seward This file is one of three files that make up the complete REMOTE.DO package. The other two are REMOTE.DO and SETUP.DAT. STARTUP.DAT is a sample setup file for use by REMOTE.DO. Upon activation, REMOTE.DO will ask for the name of the setup file. This means one should only need to edit the data file before activating REMOTE.DO on their system. Please change the passwords before running and change them regularly for your own protection. I should mention that the modem on the system running REMOTE.DO must be fairly Hayes compatible. SETUP.DAT Structure Setup files must contain six lines of text which is interpreted as follows: Password for full access. Password for limited or partial access. Default path to be set as part of each initialization and disconnect. Fastest baud rate to be supported. String to initialize modem. String sent by the modem when the phone rings. The sample SETUP.DAT is for a 2400 baud modem. For a 1200 baud modem with the Carrier Detect and Data Terminal active just use the six lines below as a replacement for SETUP.DAT.
