Shadow version 1.0 ================== Here are a list of changes which have taken place since the printing of the manual. Additional Dialog Box --------------------- If you try to save a file (after a successful receive) and the file already exists, you will be presented with a dialog box which says: File Exists! Overwrite File? Okay Click on the Okay button or press the letter 'O' to overwrite the existing file. Click on the right mouse button or press the [UNDO] key to take no action so you may change the name. Additional Terminal Options --------------------------- Two additional keystrokes have been added to Shadow's terminal: ALT-B Sends a short break ALT-L Sends a long break Additional Main Menu Option --------------------------- Double clicking on the buffer size box (contains text such as '100 K') will save a SHADOW.INF file to the AUTO folder of your boot disk drive. The SHADOW.INF file will contain your CURRENT Shadow settings, including buffer size, ramdisk size and letter, and your transfer type and direction. Caveat ------ The receive routine will automatically cut 1K from the buffer size to avoid possible overwrites of memory after the end of buffer. If you are going to receive a file that is just the size of your file transfer buffer, you should make sure the buffer is at least 1K over the file size you will get. Additional Information ---------------------- We have included GFA BASIC bindings to SHADOW in the file GFA_BIND.LST in the SHADOW folder. You may use these in your GFA BASIC program to access SHADOW's transfer and dial routines. Also, check CompuServe and other BBSes for Pascal bindings, soon. If you are a programmer, and plan to add SHADOW access to your program, please be sure to look at ALL files in the SHADOW folder!! Another program to include direct access to SHADOW is UniTerm by Simon Poole. Timer D controls baud rate. Aegis Animator Express Logistix First Shapes Math Talk 10th Frame Flight Simulator II Xtron You may be able to use some boot disk games, by starting the transfer, then hitting the reset button to load up the boot disk. Be careful with boot disks. Also, some programs (GAMES) do not allow exit, so you will need to hit the reset button to exit, this should not affect the transfer. :-) - Mike and Paul Have a good day.
