The show is free, yes, its free, and is, if nothing else, perhaps a good chance to see what your fellow midi and electronic music composers are doing. The performances range from live signal processing avant-garde mixed media, to simple tape playings. There shall also be I know one film, one video, and one mixed film/video, all of course shall utilize interesting soundtracks. There will be a reception after, and there is as always general tech talk and banter after the show. Last year was very fun, we had a packed house, and we're expecting the same again this year. The show will be at Knuth Hall in the Creative Arts building on the main campus. Come out, hang out. Please leave a message if you've any questions or comments. Dennis W. Can't get any to play. Read the manual 100 times (more or less). It is receiving midi info on the proper channel. The midi receive light comes on when the controlling keyboard is played. The output of the drum sounds is sent to "mix". The volume is set to 100. The little 'R' on the display blacks out when a note is sent to it. Every- thing seems O.K. except it won't play. All the other sounds are O.K. I bought Band-in-a-Box and would really like to hear the drum parts it makes up. All my other stuff works fine but this one has me stumped. By the way, the drum sounds all play when the demo songs are played. Hal in Danville /help/ '/HELP' [A Read:(1-75,^75),? : Post on General - Msgs.? No < General - Msgs. This seems like a great place for a MIDI beginner like myself. So, do all of you agree that the MQ Midi Interface for $99 is a good buy. It's one that I have also been looking at. I'd be using it with a Kawai K1 and an Alesis HR-16. Anyone try Prism yet? It looks appealing for the price, but then again you get what you pay for. I appreciate any feedback.
