Harlekin 2 README.TXT file
==========================

This is the README.TXT file mentioned in the Harlekin 2 manual.
It contains changes to the program and the disk contents that
were made after the manual was printed.

Version 2.1
===========

The only changes in this version relate to the disk contents:

1. There is no HARLEKIN.RMD file on the disk. A file with an
RMD extension is created when you 'save' a RAM disk full of
files for later auto-loading; there would be no point in our
supplying you one of these!

2. There are no KEY files on the disk. We supplied many
keyboard files with Harlekin 1 but this caused many users a
great deal of confusion because there is no standard keyboard
layout in many countries, especially Scandinavia. If you wish
to customise your keyboard layout you should do this yourself
(or with advice) and save the layout as a KEY file.

3. The HARLEKIN.FNT font file is a combination of the previous
MAC.FNT and IBM.FNT files; it gives you Mac-like characters and
IBM screen graphics characters.

4. The HARLEKIN.HEX file is a simple Epson-like printer filter.
You can look at it and edit it using the editor - please read
the Printing chapter in the manual when trying to understand
how printer filters work.

5. There is an HPGLIBTC folder on the disk. This contains the
source of some example HPG files, suitable for the Turbo C
compiler. We hope to be able to supply Lattice C compatible
sources in the near future.

6. The small version of the Harlekin accessory is named
HARLEGSP.ACX on the disk. If you want to use this one, rename
it to be HARLEGSP.ACC, place it on your boot disk and remove
HARLEGFP.ACC from your boot disk.

We hope you enjoy using Harlekin 2.
