DOSXFER is designed to bootstrap transfer of files between an Amstrad PCW or Spectrum +3 with a 3.5" disc drive and a computer which can read DOS discs, such as a PC, Macintosh (with PC Exchange, not Apple File Exchange), Archimedes, NeXT or SPARCstation. 1. Format a DD disc to 720k. 2. Use RAWRITE, dd or a similar utility to transfer the image file DOSXFER.P3D to the disc. DOSXFER.P3D has been ZIPped - UNZIP, PKUNZIP or gunzip will decompress it. 3. The disc will now have a CP/M filesystem. PCW users should examine the file EDIT.ME using LocoScript; +3 users should run the file DISK. 4. The software on the disc will convert between 706k CP/M format and a DOS 706k format which can be read by most computers. John Elliott - elliott.teaching@physics.oxford.ac.uk
