You need the following programs to use ClrMame: * MAME.EXE - Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. Available here: http://xs4all.nl/~delite/ - You will need version 0.29 or higher ! * CWSDPMI.EXE - MS-DOS extender. Available here: http://www.gnu.org/ You will need it, if you want to use M.A.M.E./ClrMame under MS-DOS. Win95/NT users can start M.A.M.E./ClrMame in a MS-DOS box without using CWSDPMI. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ IV - Important Information About ClrMame ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Here some things you MUST know about ClrMame: * With ClrMame V2.2 there is NO support for M.A.M.E. versions < 0.29 ! * The parameters '-length', '-fixlength', '-chksum' have no effect when checking sample files and game folders. * A 'CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE' checksum means that the driver authors didn't add a correct checksum to the ROM file. Maybe it's ok... maybe it isn't ok. * The -spelling parameter only works under Windows 95/NT4.0. Under MS-DOS it will always report wrong spellings due to the fact that MS-DOS maps all filenames to uppercase. * ClrMame will create (and remove) one temporary file/folder in your current working directory. It's named "tempfile.clm". Be sure that you haven't such a file/folder in your current working directory, or it will be erased. * Don't use the 32bit Win95 version of M.A.M.E. with ClrMame. Not because you have to rename "mame32.exe" in "mame.exe", but this version has some strange bugs while creating list files. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ V - Usage And Parameters ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ After you installed ClrMame change to your M.A.M.E. directory and start ClrMame by typing: 'ClrMame -?' + A usagestring will appear: Usage: ClrMame {
