Arcade Emulators Center for win95 ---------------------------------- Version 0.91 by Marc Lafontaine This is Freeware. To Contact me: Email: marclaf@sympatico.ca Web: www3.sympatico.ca/marclaf What is Arcade Emulators Center: ------------------------------- Arcade Emulators Center is a program that launch many Arcade Emulators. It keep track of your Hi-scores and, in some case, write your Hi-scores directly in the ROM of the game. This is useful for emulators that dont save their RAM. Why did I write this program: ---------------------------- I was tired to lose my hi-scores at Gravitar. How to use Arcade Emulators Center: ---------------------------------- -Before you start the program, make sure the program is not on a CD-ROM disk because, he will not be able to save its configuration file. If the program is on a CD-ROM, you better copy it on your hard drive. -When you start the program for the first time, the first screen (START) is empty. You must configure the emulators path that are in the other pages. All path and options are saved in the .INI file when you exit the program. So, if you reset your computer after changing an option, it will be lost. -For emulators with multiple games like MAME, you have the option to Enable/Disable the game from the START list. It is usefull for the games that you have'nt got the rom images yet or the games you dont like. -Dont forget to check the Write hi-score in ROM box if you want the program to write your hi-scores directly in the game ROM. At the time, this feature is not supported for all the games, so if the checkbox is not checkable, it maybe will in a next version. Its a good idea to backup your ROMs when enabling this option. If a game have no Write hi-score in ROM checkbox, it may be for two reason: because the emulator already save the hi-scores, or because this particular game have no hi-score table in ROM. Any game that the Write hi-score in ROM checkbox is not checked, his scores will be saved in the .INI file. -When you have configured one or more emulators, you start the games in the START page. First, click on the game you want to play, then click on the LAUNCH button. Or, if you want to view or enter an hi-score, click on the View/Enter hi-scores button. -All the emulators I support can be downloaded from Dave's Classic Video Game web page at: http://www.gamepen.com/gamewire/classic/classic.html exept for Williams emulator that is a commercial program. -Dont ask me for rom images. Bugs and Comments: ------------------ -With emulators that save their ram, like Time pilot, I did not put the option to save the score in ROM because you will not see them anyway. -In Gravitar, I had to patch the code so he can accept score higher than 4 digit. I was lucky that the Gravitar programmer made their Init Score routine too long, I rewrote it in less bytes so I had the place to put the extra digit of the score. So this patch is applyed to the rom the first time you save the score table. -In Donkey konk, Donkey Kong JR and Mario bros, I did'nt found where is the highest score that appear at the top of the screen when you play. It seem hard coded. If someone know where it is, please E-mail me.
