Please read this it will give you a lot of info. ************************************************ * What is this program * ************************************************ The program is an 8085 microprocessor kit emulator, i.e., it emulates a 8085 microprocessor on the host machine it is running. The emulator uses a virtual machine to recreate the microprocessor on the the host machine. The emulator also supports the system calls as documented in the Intel SDK(Software Development Kit). The emulator also includes a assembler, a debugger and an interface. The virtual machine is written in a high level language (C) and hence is portable, but the interface is machine dependent. ************************************************ * How to use the emulator * ************************************************ The program as such contains an assembler a debugger and an interface. The emulator accepts an 8085 assembly file, parses it, and checks for syntax errors. If assembling is through, it loads the assembled binary image into the virtual machine and passes control to the debugger. At this stage the user gets control and can either step through the code or just run it. # How do I specify which 8085 assembly file to run. There are two ways for this. In the first method just pass the name of the file as a command line parameter to emulator when you start the emulator. i.e., 8085.EXE <8085-assembly-file>. The second way is useful when you are already running a program and want to load a new program. For this just press 'Alt+S'(this stops the current program) and then press 'F3' to get to the 'new file' command. (You must supply the entire file name). # What is the format of the 8085 assembly file. The 8085 assembly file is a plain ASCII text file containing 8085 assembly code mnemonics and data. # What do I do after loading the program. After the program is loaded you are placed in the debugger. The debugger and the interface work hand in hand to give you the latest update about registers and memory location. Just watch the LED display scroll in a infinite loop.
