This subdirectory contains the FCOMPOSE program which is identical to the C/MS Composer in almost all aspects. The differences and new features are documented in the file FCOMPOSE.TXT. It also includes 2 sample FTM files. As the FCOMPOSE is to be used on the SOUND BLASTER 1.5, you are advised to fimilarize yourself with some of the new concepts introduced in this version and its User Manual. A key idea is the use of the "SET SOUND=" environment string to control the search path for SOUND BLASTER system files and the DRV subdirectory to store the drivers. You can avoid a lot of problems when you use the FCOMPOSE if you start with these hints : 1. For instance if you are running FCOMPOSE from this diskette inserted in drive A, then remember to add the following line in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file : SET SOUND=A:\SB Enter the line as it is shown here without any extra spaces. FCOMPOSE will then look for the directory A:\SB\SBI for the instrument files (with extension .SBI). 2. If you execute FCOMPOSE with the /P parameter, remember to load the FM driver (SBFMDRV) first. If the I/O and Interrupt are different from the factory default, remember to refer to the User Manual on how to re-install the drivers. 3. After you have done the above, you can try doing the following command to compose the example file DOODLE.FTM : FCOMPOSE /P DOODLE
