
     BULLS AND BEARS

BULLS AND BEARS (BAB) is a stock market game intended for use by
anyone wanting to learn a little about the effects of news headlines
on different areas of the economy. It may reside on floppy disk or
hard disk. It is completely 'menu driven' and has five (5) phases
of operation: (With lots of graphics).

1) Input - The number of players (up to 4) and their first names
   are asked to be typed in.  Then, a response to a question of
   allowing the computer to play is answered, and the game begins.
   Each player is allotted $5000 to try to make it grow to $100,000.
   The first player to reach $100,000 is declared the winner.

             Special User Keys:
                     1st ESC ------- Return to start of game
                     2nd ESC ------- Exit BULLS AND BEARS
                     Any Ctrl X ---- Exit BULLS AND BEARS

2) Present scores - All players stock values and cash-on-hand is
   displayed.

3) Portfolio updates - The portfolio of each player is presented in
   the input order. The player may sell,buy, or hold any of his
   equities. If he chooses HOLD, the next player is presented. The
   computer always plays last.

4) Market session - A list of equities paying dividends along with
   a list of the day's gainers and losers is listed.

5) Market news - The morning news headlines are displayed. The news
   headline is an indicator of what will happen to the market that
   day. If the players can interpret the news correctly, it will be
   very profitable during the portfolio update phase.
